What to do if they take away your EAD card during AOS interview?

I read on the forums that they take away your EAD card during the AOS interview. Is this always true, and does this mean that the interview was successful? Also, what do you do if your first day of work is a day or two after the interview? Do they give you anything to verify that you are eligible to work in the interim period until your green card comes in the mail? Thanks!

They screwed up and took my wife and daughters I-94 [K3/K4] at the AOS interview. Told us we'd have to get AP to travel when the K3/K4 was a 2 year multi entry visa. Also told us AOS was approved and we'd get GCs in 2 weeks. Ended up taking 3 months!!!

Luckily they didn't have to travel before they got their GCs.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

My husband's I94 was taken at interview, but the IO let him keep the EAD. I think if you ask the IO to keep the EAD they may let you. It's not like they take everyone's, just varies by office/person.

Good luck :star:
