AOS Approved In Atlanta Today

Just wanted to say that our AOS was approved today in Atlanta. :dance::dance:

It was really fast and easy. Which was nice. :D

Our appointment was for 8 am and we left the building at 8:30.

The only things he went over was to verify our address, phone number, and asked us if those were our signatures on the AOS forms we sent in.

He asked for my birth certificate, and my son's.

Asked for our 2005 income tax return.

Asked us the yes/no questions that are on the AOS forms, and that was it.

He then told us we were both approved. :D

My name check already came back so my passport is stamped. My son's name check hasnt got back to them yet, so he didnt get his stamp today. But we are both happy to be approved. He said it could take from one week to 6-8 months to get it back. So we will wait for my son Jonathan's, and hopefully it wont be to long of a wait. He did take my EAD card, but not Jonathan's.

He didnt ask for no evidence of our marriage. No pictures, nothing besides the tax return.

So it was a great experience. We had a really nice young man doing our interview.

OK, I do have one question for those of you that have your passports stamped with the I-551. My question is. Is the valid date on the stamp suppose to be for 1 year or 2. Mine is saying valid only for one year. Is that because the Perm Res Card is being sent, which is valid for 2 years, or did the nice young man just make a mistake. I tried calling the 800 number today, but I couldnt get thru to get an answer.

Anyways, that's our experience today in Atlanta. :thumbs:

Thanks to all the great friends that I have made on this site for all the excellent advice and help from start to finish with our K-1/K-2 right thru to our approval of our AOS. So many wonderful, smart and helpful people make this the best site to go thru this process. Someone is always there to lend a hand to help, or an ear to listen if you need to vent or just missing your SO before you get the visa.

This is truly a great day for our family getting thru this whole process with out any problems. We were very blessed that everything went smoothly from start to finish. To everyone that is still waiting whether it be for your visa or AOS. I hope that your time comes soon and you are reunited with your loved ones. (F)

Next Wednesday will be my one year anniversary of being in the USA. So it was 51 weeks from the time we entered on our K-1/K2 till we have our AOS approved. Thanks again to everyone who makes this site so great.........................Peggy & Roger

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

April 24, 2007 : Welcome Notice Rvcd. Yeeehaaa!!!!
June 1, 2007: GC arrived! Yippy! USCIS Free for 2 years!
2008: Moved to China
2009: Conditional GC Expired and Husband has been having affairs since 2008 in China. Can't file for ROC since he got laid off. He came to Jakarta to live with me and my parents. He got a new job. Life resume to normal or so I thought.
March 2010: Officially separated after yet more affairs exposed just a day after my birthday!

February 2011: Officially divorced.
June 18, 2011: He married the girl he had the last affair with.

August 2014: I am engaged with my real soulmate. Not an American.

December 13, 2007 - I-751 submitted to NSC (removing of conditions fun begins...)

December 22 - Received a rejection notice because the form was not "properly signed". Package itself was not returned.

January 1, 2008 - Received packet back from CSC. They are requesting we resubmit the packet (which is already organized by CSC) with a properly signed form.

January 2 - Packet resubmitted to California.

January 12 - NOA1 received (dated 01/07/2008)

January 19 - Biometrics appointment notice received (dated 01/15/2008)

February 1 - Biometrics

March 11 - Approved! Card production ordered (notified via e-mail).

March 20, 2008 - New card arrived in the mail :)

Done until 2018 :)
