This is my INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE - U.S. Embassy Manila

Before I went to the embassy, I ate half of the food I ordered in the hotel and leave. Arrived at the embassy at 5am and waited at the place where there's a lot of other immigrants and nonimmigrants whose also having their interview. I chatted to some of the applicants while waiting to be called to fall-in-line. Unfortunately, nobody in the area, where I was seated, a member of visajourney. So, I kept on telling them that me and my fiance got almost all of the infos on our visa process. But someone commented that she went to vj but there's a forum that she read that it's a lie. Well, I didn't comment back on her comment that's her opinion. But as for me, Visajourney really helped me a lot on our journey.

Well anyways to continue, those applicants who have a 6am appointment were called already to fall-in-line. Patiently, I am waiting for my turn to fall-in-line too and 7am appointments were called finally. Presented the CONFIRMATION LETTER, printed on my fiance's email address cos we haven't got our letter yet from the embassy up to the time that I am writing this post, AND A VALID ID. Then seated at the bench before entering the embassy.

Time to enter the embassy. All the things that you're holding put on the X-RAY machine for check-up and submit yourself for inspection. I guess we all know here that CELLPHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE EMBASSY or else you will be asked to reschedule your interview appointment and that really hurts.

Continue. Finally inside the embassy, proceed to IMMIGRANT VISA UNIT. Follow the security guards' instructions, where to be seated, cos even though those people who has an earlier appointment than you were inside they still haven't started yet. Before starting to released for TICKET NUMBERS, someone will announced you have to prepare 2 copies of DS 156 w/ PICTURE ATTACHED, 2 DS157 - ONE FROM THE BANK(handwritten) and ONE PRINTED ONLINE, 1 copy DS156K.

note:

1.) Fill in the question on DS156, WHEN DO YOU INTEND TO ARRIVE IN THE US - Could be month and year, handwritten, since you don't have an exact date of when you're going to leave.

2.) Fill in also on DS156K, at the bottom saying don't fill out consular will assist you, your fiance/fiancee's name and your signature. To avoid delay on giving your TICKET NUMBER.

At exactly 7am, first batch of applicant's were called to get their forms and will be given a TICKET NUMBER. Next our batch, 7am. Once your given a ticket number go back to where you're seated and then wait for your number to be flashed or you'll be called by your name sometimes too, so be attentive. My number didn't flash on the board. Instead, my name is called. I don't know why though why my name is called and not my number.

PRE-SCREENING. I went to the window where i am asked to proceed. Interviewed by Pinoy girl, around 30's. Just asked mainly about infos about me and my fiance - ages, our birthdays, birthplace, address in the US, living with whom, work of fiance, name of company. Asked for evidences. I handed her all the evidences I prepared for long time..lol - Emails, Chat Logs, Call Histories, Emails, Snail Mail & Cards, Receipts, Flight Records, Money Transfers, and Photos. Then asked for the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT (IRS, W-2, pay stubs, letter from employer, bank statement), CLEARANCES & CERTIFICATES - NBI, Police, Birth Cert from NSO, Cenomar and if you have kid/s submit also their Birth Certs from NSO . I am happy because my organizer was empty..lol They'll forward all of those to the CO. All of my documents were placed on a transparent folders w/ sliders and labeled them on each category on front page and of the same folder color for uniformity. And asked to go back again where I am seated and wait for my number to be called for the finger scanning.

note:

sometimes, finger scanning is first before pre-screening so don't worry.

FINGER SCANNING. My name was called to proceed to Window 33 for finger scanning. Give your ticket number to the assisting person and fall-in-line and when it's time for your turn, someone will guide you no need to worry. This is just quick step though. Go back to where you're seated and wait for your number to be called finally for the INTERVIEW.

INTERVIEW. Number flashed and number of the room where to proceed, I'm on WINDOW 30. Seated on the sit outside the room and waited for my turn. Someone came out of the room and it's my turn, a white guy around 30's....hmmm He's nice, before we proceed on question and answer portion...lol Anyways, he appreciated my documents and joke on me that I did a great job on my assignment. I am so happy for that complement and it took my nervousness because before I got inside the room, I am really shaking, so nervous, and I just sung LORD I OFFER MY LIFE TO YOU and Prayed. Just asked the same question what the pre-screener asked me though. The pre-screener even asked a lot than the consul. The CO gave me back all of the evidences. And said wait for my name to be called outside either on WINDOW 37 & 38. Lastly the CO joked again, said to me "I can smell a baby soon." and replied a big smile..lol

FINALLY, my name was called at window 38 and handed me pink slip. Asked if I paid the DV - I said yes and she took the receipt. Gave me a form for additional document. Gave me my passport and said bring the passport upon submitting the additional document needed. Paid the delivery fee to delbros. And I'm done.

The following day, I went back to embassy to submit the additional document needed with the blue form and my passport. And I am totally done.

And that's my interview experience. If there's anything you want to asked me, DON'T HESITATE TO ASK. I am willing to help as long as I can.

REALLY A BIG THANKS TO VJ. THIS SITE REALLY HELPED ME AND FIANCE A LOT. For those who are still having their interview soon, just be prepared, know your fiance/fiancee's. And pray.

GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE AND GOD BLESS US ALL.
