Hey all,

AOS interview in less than a week and getting a wee bit nervous.

I've got all my papers together (hooray! ), so now I'm worrying about the little details.

My husband and I have matching friendship pins with an american and egyptian flag on it, like so

B_62.gif

and we're planning on each wearing ours to our interview. I'm thinking it looks cute and couple-ish, and that it will show that my husband loves his birth country but has embraced his new home. However, a small part of me worries that it might raise some suspicions of dual loyalities or something. I don't want to give the interviewer any reason to doubt us.

I'm probably just makin a mountain out of a molehill here, but my mind is a wee bit restless at this point.

I think you are fine. I doubt they will deny you because of a pin... but if you are going to be sitting at the interview, worried and nervous about it, you may want to leave it home because the last thing you need is more nerves, and the interviewer may pick up on that and that may arouse suspicion. Just my opinion.

P.S. I think those pins are cute!

I would say they would just take them off like they would with any other jewelery/spare change/keys when they're going through the detectors.

One more vote for Stina's answer. Leave it home if it even causes such distraction as it does right now (you're asking about the pin would cause the metal detector to set off :), of course it would)... then it is too much and unnecessary distraction... Stay focus! You're going to war here, travel lite and be ready.

Leave the pin or anything that may cause distraction at home...

Good luck and come back with GREEN CARD report Ok :)

i also agree with stina. you don't need any excess things to fuss with or stress about.

try not to panic, just think of the GC as already being yours and you're just going to fetch it. :D

so just rest up and focus your energy on perfecting your GC approval dance, okay?:lol:

I honestly don't even think the interviewer would notice, unless you point it out.

And of course you and your husband are going to have "dual loyalties", I assume his family is all still there? Should he have just forgotten about all of his years in his homeland as soon as he landed here in the US? pfffffffffft!

Really, mountain out of a mole hill. Wear them with pride. :)
