Absolutely she can re-enter with her passport and green card. Just check what visa requirements Mexico has for Philipino citizens

Enjoy the sun!!!

Thanks!

CR-1 Visa recipients receive their green cards within the first couple of weeks from entry, right?

YES, since she will be entering the USA on an immigrant CR-1 visa she will get an I-551 stamp in passport at POE. The I-551 stamp allows re-entry from trips abroad.

NOTE: Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, recognize I-551 stamp or green-card, so NO visa required to travel there.

With all due respect, I got my information from the Foreign Affairs Ministry. I would not like to see the OP and his wife having their vacation ruined for trusting an airline website.

Better safe than sorry, me thinks.

Why spoil a vacation dealing with the MX consulate only to find out that US green-card holders are allowed to visit MX WITHOUT a Visa.

Been there done that...

Permanent legal residents of the US and Canada

All legal permanent residents of Canada and the United Sates, regardless of their nationality, if in possession of a so-called green card (now they are pink), or its Canadian equivalent, do not have to go through the process of applying to Mexico City for their entry permit nor do they need the stamp on their passports. They can be issued the tourist card on board the aircraft or at the port of entry to be able to travel to Mexico as tourists, in transit, or for short business trips.

THEY MUST CARRY WITH THEM THEIR VALID PASSPORT AND THEIR GREEN OR PINK PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD ISSUED BY THE U.S.A. GOVERNMENT OR THE CANADIAN EQUIVALENT.

Requirements to Visit Mexico

(If you are looking for a Resident visa, click here)

  • U.S. and Canadian citizens do not need a visa to enter Mexico as tourists.

  • They need to present a valid passport, or a birth certificate or certificate of naturalization and an I.D.

  • They will also have to fill a Tourist Form that can be obtained at any airline that flies into Mexico, port of entry or Mexican Consulate Office.

  • US and Canadian citizens traveling for business or other purposes, please call our visa department at (619) 308-9953, or email us at info@consulmexsd.org.

  • All permanent residents of the United States who are holders of a “Permanent Resident Card”, also known as “green card “, that want to travel to Mexico as tourists need to present their passport and “Green Card” and fill a Tourist form.

Travel to Mexico as Tourist

2. PERMANENT RESIDENTS OF THE U.S.A, CANADA OR JAPAN.

Permanent residents of the United States of America (Green Card holders), Canada or Japan, regardless of their country of origin, do not require a visa to travel to Mexico for tourism, but you will require:

a) A valid passport.

b ) A valid Permanent Resident Card.

c) A Tourist form (FMTTV) which is provided on the airplane, bus or ship.

we're driving to tecate, mexico this weekend. the mexican visa requirements are only for Phillipine citizens that are non-GC holders. for US GC holders, the GC + Philippine passport should suffice. i'll respond back if it isn't.

Fate is building a bridge of chance for the one you love...
