I am reading the same info about the vaccination supplement, so it looks like good news! Also, some people have been approved just sending DS-3025 rather than having a civil surgeon do the I-693A translation. I'm taking my chances - an RFE will only cost me as much time as I will lose now by having to get that sorted.

As far as the certified marriage certificate goes, I-485 asks for a 'copy' and in the initial instructions it states that only certified copies are required where 'certified copy' is stated. I have certified copies but I'm sending a photocopy.

From the Nolo Fiance and Marriage Visa 4th Edition: Applicants who entered the US on K1 fiance visa and are now applying for a green card on the basis of their subsequent marriage can use the results of their earlier medical exam (done to get the fiance visa). The results of that exam should already be in the local USCIS office files, because they were included in the sealed packet of paperwork that served as the fiance's entry visa.

We didn't include anything for the I-693 as Patrick's medical was done right before his interview in Frankfurt.

Also, you need a certified copy of the marriage license that you receive from the clerk of court. As far as I know for this purpose a photocopy is insufficient (just like for a passport or DL or something).

Ok - forms all filled... now I need to make sure I have all the other gumbo... I am dreading looking for the medical stuff because I don't think the medical place gave me copies

Do you have a copy of your DS-3025? That's all you need.

Hey Katz :D

Babbles - it looks like mine (though need to get a ton of copies!) Also need to get a certified copy of our marriage certificate as we didn't do that... I am guessing a notarised copy isn't the same?

As for the I-693... I am a bit confused - I just posted in the stickied thread if anyone is interested, but by some of the info on the USCIS website, I don't actually need to get my HPV vaccine because I had my medical before June 1st this year!!! Go check it out and see what you think cause I just think it sounds too good to be true!! Here is all my info so far:

Immediate Relative (Spouse) Family Based Adjustment of Status Application (I-485)

Contents:

I-485 - Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

G-325a - Biographic Information

- Supplement to G-325a, Applicant's Employment for Last Five Years

- Two Passport Photos (write full name on back, place in plastic bag and label "photo of Alyson Selina Redinger". Attach bag to sheet of paper and place behind G-325a.

I-864 - Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the Act

- Copy of Federal Tax Return for 2007 (1040A)

- Copy of Wage and Tax Statement for 2007 (W-2)

I-765 - Application for Employment Authorisation

I-131 - Application for Travel Document

- Supplement to I-131, Part 7

- Payment of $1010

- Copy of non US Citizen Passport (including biographical information)

- Copy of non US Citizen K-1 Visa

- Copy of I-797, Approval Notice

- Copy of non US Citizen valid I-94, Departure Record

- Copy of non US Citizen Birth Certificate

- Certified copy of marriage certificate

I-693a - Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status(If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application)

Signature: ____________________________________ Date:_08/14/2008_____________

All you have to do for the copy of the marriage certificate is copy the certified one that you got. It isn't worded well in the guides. No need to notarize it. Do NOT use I-693A. It is no longer in use. Use the I-693.

My check was cashed! Whoo hoo!

Apparently a photocopy is fine because you bring the original to interview if you get one...

So the original certificate is all I would need? I wouldn't need any certified copies for any other reason? I think I might have been complicating all this - it just seems too easy! I am sure I will get a trillion RFEs

Funnily enough, ours has "do not photocopy this form" plastered across the bottom, so we nipped to the Recorders office and got an official copy of our marriage certificate. Cost $15, iirc.

 Ours doesn't have that but that's prolly for the best - popping across to Sedona, AZ from Palm Springs CA is a bit of a jaunt!!!

Well - am hoping to get it all mailed off today - expecting a trillion RFEs but I figure I'm happy with what I am sending so will take the chance - if I get through without RFEs then it will be a miracle but a very happy one!! :D
