i just got AOS intial interview letter today by mail.excited and kinda nervous though

here is my journey.

8/1/2008: filed for i765/i485/i131

8/4/2008: got i767 for all three

8/20/2008: biometrics taken (finger print and photo)

10/1/2008: i131 approval notice sent on uscis website

10/1/2008: card production ordered for i765

10/6/2008: i131arrived in mail

10/9/2008: i765 arrived in mail

10/27/2008: initial interview letter notice

11/21/2008: interview date.

Chances are you WILL have the AP by then. If not, you will be able to change your flights with the airline. How expensive that is depends on the airline. We are thinking of just booking our tickets as well, because the difference in what we will pay for the tickets if we don't book until two weeks before Christmas may be more than we would be charged to change the tickets. For now, we are waiting to book because we really SHOULD have the AP at least approved by the third week in November (three months after we filed). *Bites nails.....*

We booked our flights weeks ago because they were really cheap. We just figured if I don't get it in time we will just cancel the flights and get a credit from the airline (Air Canada) and use it another time. I really hope I get it in time, I was actually hoping to get it earlier so that I could go home for a quick visit as I won't be able to see everyone at Christmas!

So great to hear all the good news!!! Nothing here for me - my biggest news is that we found a kitten collar for Riley and now he is outside going completely mental which is making my other cat freak out!!! I have left the door open (it's not too hot yet!) so he can get back in if he gets scared but he seems to be having a great time!! I always panic when I first let them out though in case they get lost - it's the only reason I got him a collar because I don't want him to get lost and picked up as a stray. He has a microchip but if he doesn't have a collar someone might try and take him in if they think he is a stray

Anyway!! I am going to update the spreadsheet again today as there is so much news!! PM me if I miss you (but give me a chance as I need to check my PMs first!

I hear ya. I have a little chihuahua (of whom my mother kept when I left my house) and we are always afraid of the same.

Anyway ... .. I am leaving you today girl friend .. leaving San Diego and finishing up packing to head back to the east coast (Tampa!). So excited to go home ...

OK. went to SS office. Handed them old ssn card, passport, marriage certificate and EAD card. They processed it all fine but then said I have to wait 2-3 weeks whilst they confirm my name change with immigration. EEEERRRRM. doesn't my k1 with photo and maiden name then ead with photo and married name plus marriage certificate already confirm!!!!!!

Debz - they're just weird I guess I just took my marriage certificate with my old SSN to the SSA and they did it there and then - took a week for my card to arrive

don't worry. you'll have your card by next week. i think they tell people the maximum turnaround time so we dont call and bother them after a week..hehehe. i was also told i'll get it after 2-3weeks but i found it in the mail after 5 days.

I got a job interview on Monday for a kennel and animal care assistant at a vet hospital. Put in application 2 hrs ago and they just called and said come in monday 8am for a working interview, wear old clothes. They do on the job interview as they can't tell how you interact with animals just by talking to you.
