EAD was in the mail box this morning. YEY. Going to SS office tomorrow to change name on SS card and to DMV to start driving licence stuff. Got the keys to my buick today.

So I'm wondering. If we don't get P's EAD card by November 4th can we just make an INFOPASS appointment and get the thing at our local office? I'm worried it might be lost in the mail or something...

i just got AOS intial interview letter today by mail.excited and kinda nervous though

here is my journey.

8/1/2008: filed for i765/i485/i131

8/4/2008: got i767 for all three

8/20/2008: biometrics taken (finger print and photo)

10/1/2008: i131 approval notice sent on uscis website

10/1/2008: card production ordered for i765

10/6/2008: i131arrived in mail

10/9/2008: i765 arrived in mail

10/27/2008: initial interview letter notice

11/21/2008: interview date.

I applied for SSN this morning (7:00 am). The place was empty so I only spent 10 mins. The lady who took my application was really nice. She said that it usually takes 2 to 6 weeks but my info is not in the system therefore, It may take up to 6 weeks to rec it.

Did anybody have any luck expediting their case? i tried with the ead and used the father in law's death as the reason but before the USCIS support officer put the case through the questions he asked me made my gut cancel the expidit. He said it had to be a life or death situation which is ironic. He said i will need to show proof that he was providing for the family etc but the guy had been sick for 10 years or more with Hepititis B, diabetits, so much, his disability is what provided the family i guess? But i pulled out as he said i'd have to provide evidence and it's not fair on my mother-in-law, PLUS, if it got denied which is was most likely to the officer said it would delay my case.

He put through a notice though that the 90 day time frame is coming up and the applicant is concerned and would like to receive an update on what's happening with his case. I thought this was very nice and strange? lol. I should hear back by Nov 12, or nov 28 at the latest. Wonderful! arrrgh.

The VJ estimates tend to be a little bit on the pessimistic side. Reason: they depend on averages from people's timelines. Not everyone updates their timeline. I am getting nervous about my husband's AP, too. My timeline is saying December 1-16 where it used to say November 7-23! We need to book our flights to Calgary for Christmas before December 16 or we'll be paying ridiculous air fare for them (err, you know, I mean, even more ridiculous). I keep trying to remind myself I got my NOA2 for his K1 a month earlier than my timeline was predicting.

I feel your pain, my timeline is saying that I will get my AP between December 13 and December 28 and we have already bought our plane tickets home (we leave December 23). What am I going to do if I don't get my AP in time? Do I have any options or am I just going to have to cancel my flight?

Chances are you WILL have the AP by then. If not, you will be able to change your flights with the airline. How expensive that is depends on the airline. We are thinking of just booking our tickets as well, because the difference in what we will pay for the tickets if we don't book until two weeks before Christmas may be more than we would be charged to change the tickets. For now, we are waiting to book because we really SHOULD have the AP at least approved by the third week in November (three months after we filed). *Bites nails.....*

So great to hear all the good news!!! Nothing here for me - my biggest news is that we found a kitten collar for Riley and now he is outside going completely mental which is making my other cat freak out!!! I have left the door open (it's not too hot yet!) so he can get back in if he gets scared but he seems to be having a great time!! I always panic when I first let them out though in case they get lost - it's the only reason I got him a collar because I don't want him to get lost and picked up as a stray. He has a microchip but if he doesn't have a collar someone might try and take him in if they think he is a stray

Anyway!! I am going to update the spreadsheet again today as there is so much news!! PM me if I miss you (but give me a chance as I need to check my PMs first!
