I don't get it. How do you get an expedite? Under what circumstances?

Thats what I'm asking my self also. I mean she barely has 45 days since filed.

Don't let the choices chose you, chose the choices that you want.

if your application is transferred to your local office instead of csc., will they notify us through mail., email or status online?

As far as I know they will send you both an e-mail (if you signed up online) and send you a letter in the mail :)

I never received an e-mail notification of the transfer (eventhough I'm signed up for it). It just came up in the mail.

From last conference call:

CIS Ombudsman Updates

These periodic updates will share information on current trends and issues to assist individuals and employers in resolving problems with USCIS.

2007 Summer Surge A Year Later: Employment Authorization Document (EAD) Processing Delays

Pursuant to 8 CFR § 274a.13, USCIS must adjudicate EAD applications within 90 days from the date of USCIS receipt of the application.

The CIS Ombudsman has been receiving numerous inquiries from customers about EAD applications pending more than 90 days. Do you have this concern? Then, see our suggestions below:

Step 1: Call USCIS National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-(800) 375-5283 and record the time/date of the call and the name/number of the customer service representative:

*

Explain to the customer service representative that your EAD has been pending more than 90 days and ask for a “service request.” You should receive a response to your service request within a week.

OR

*

Ask the customer service representative to request an interim card for you. You should receive an EAD or response within a week.

Step 2: If you choose to visit a local USCIS office, schedule an INFOPASS appointment to visit that office on www.infopass.uscis.gov. At the appointment, ask to apply for an interim EAD. Note that USCIS local offices no longer issue interim EADs. The local office can review your case and determine eligibility. The local office will forward your request to the USCIS service centers. You should receive an EAD or response within a week.

Step 3: If you have tried both Step 1 and Step 2 and have still not received your EAD or an interim card, please email our office at cisombudsman.publicaffairs@dhs.gov with the details of your efforts. Please include the date and time of your call to the NCSC and the name of the customer service representative. If you visited a USCIS office, please provide that information. We will look into your case and review how we may be of assistance.

My husband got to the office for his biometrics appointment yesterday about 40 minutes early. There was no one else there and they took him in right away. He said everyone there was super nice, which is good to know, since they will be the same ones interviewing us for AOS if we don't get transferred.

Is that true?? If so it would be nice to do the interview locally, but I'm expecting a long trip to Fresno if not.

According to what a few people here have said after I posted that, no. I think it will be the same LOCATION at least, but I don't know that for sure. You might want to ask people who live in your area. I looked at the biometrics letter itself later, and it says "USCIS office" AND "Application Support Center" on different parts of the letter, so I'm not really sure if it's a different part of the same office or a different office. In our case, he went to the Federal Building in St Louis, so even if it's a different office, it is going to be in the same building.

Yikes---T minus 20 days and counting for le wedding fete.

We should all get together and play monopoly.... :jest: B)

 Which version?! I guess it should be the American one... I know the UK board off by heart though :D

I'm checking online like a maniac. Not for approvals but for what I reckon is my imminent RFE for w2's or medical. I just want them dealt with so I can quit stressing.

Aly (and everyone else who remembers me from K1)...I'm back and on form!!!

Yay! You got the net at last!? I am sooooo glad - have missed you on here!!!

I've been checking daily as well but we are still not online - owel. Have more than enough to keep us occupied at the moment with the kitties - the new one is learning that Daisy doesn't like being messed with but bless him he still tries :D Daisy has sniffed him twice but still growls and miaows at him if he gets too close - seems to be better on her terms. He does like to try playing with her tail though and if she thinks he is being "aggressive" (that is playing as a little kitten does) then she swipes at him!!! It's been pretty interesting here. Jeremy has also had five days off (two left!) so I have been a bit awol :D

Glad to hear there has been some movement and don't forget to PM me updates for the spreadsheet :)

Congrats, DI & JR!

Thanks, Johnnie J. I feel a little guilty because ours has been visible on line all along. I'm not sure what their deal is. Oh wait---it's USCIS, there simply is no rhyme or reason to anything.

With the USCIS you'd rather hear nothing than bad news! Good or nothing should be the rule!
