August 2008 AOS Filers

I have started this thread ready to start Aos in August.

Hi everyone,

I sent my AOS on the 26th and my check cashed yesterday 9/03. That's a good sign I'm looking forward to receive my NOA's in the mail in a few days. Goodluck to all of us!

You'll most probably receive your NOA's in the mail today... that's what happened to me anyway!

EAD done! Pretty easy, except for the scare they gave us. My husband is Latino and has two last names (culturally appropriate). Yet, when we filled out the forms for AOS and EAD we used only his first last name where it asked for "Family name" and then where it asked for "others named used" put his mother's last name. At the time that made the most sense.... As it turned out that was a problem and they really gave us a scare. Anyways, long story short, they fixed it right away for both the AOS and EAD and it will be fine.

Anyone know how to make sure that his second last name is added to the AP application?

What do you mean by EAD done??? has he received his EAD card?? or do you mean he had his Biometrics taken???

Using common sense and looking at the timeline, and the timeline having biometrics down as being for the 4th September, I would guess that they mean biometrics rather than the whole EAD process being over and done with within a month...

Quick question - I haven't even looked before today, but I notice on the timelines that there is a predicted adjudication date for both EAD and AP but not for AOS... is there a a reason for this at all do we know? It seems a bit odd is all...

Thanks, Jeraly, for backing me up. You are right, Biometrics are done (sorry for the mis-write earlier, don't know what I was thinking). Actually, Biometrics done for both EAD and AOS if we want to get technical.

I think that because there is really no consistency with AOS and who gets interviews and such there is no real way to predict what a good time frame is.

Great that it is showing online as well! Mine still aren't hoping that if not before, then they will go online following biometrics in a couple of weeks

I am not sure why Thao had her picture and fingerprints taken at the POE(LAX) and now we have to do it again at the biometrics. Does anyone know why this is done twice? Is it to make sure the AOS biometrics and paperwork matches the biometrics from the POE?

Doesn't everyone go through the same process: Perhaps she's confused. Once you arrive to the US CBP takes your pic and your fingerprints and they scan your passport. Maybe she confused it with that.

I don't think they are related. This next biometrics is for your AOS application. ANd for the other application to come like lifting of condition and naturalization there will still be biometrics there. Its like just a standard procedure for each application and their not related to each other. jUst me i might be wrong

Hmm isnt it that everyone need to undergo that at POE actually the biometrics at POE is not as many or longer than the biometrics done for AOS...

Oh I figure they just want to do it for fun every step of the way - I've had biometrics taken so many times it wouldn't surprise me if they were cloning me somewhere or something
