Thank you for your inquiry. The biometrics have been received, and the background checks appear to have been completed, therefore, this case is pending processing at the California Service Center in the order received. Please allow approximately 90 days. If notice of decision or other action is not received in that time, please feel free to contact this office. Have a wonderful day.

I take it that this means "in the order received [AT CSC]" rather than "in the order received [by NOA1 date]" then...

That sheds a little light though, thanks. I was only transferred to CSC in February so I guess we have some waiting still to do :

So now I can not contact them unitl May 10. Meanwhile, people who filed in well after us our getting GC's. So order recieved is a bunch of BS.

Another thing. I called USCIS 2 weeks ago they told me our case was in St. Paul and we need to wait for them to schedule an interview. #######!

This 'Now don't contact us again for n days' stuff really shouldn't be allowed.

We are also waiting for our GC. My Senator's office wrote to CSC and they replied back:

Pretty much the same BS they gave us...first they said they didn't have an I-485 on file, but I have a receipt number, then they couldn't tell me where the file was if it was in Baltimore or CSC...I don't care if they don't want to hear from me they will. I was also fed the line, that cases are processed in the order they're received, I said, really, who told you that! I hate it when they flat out read from the monitor or book...was also told that cases were NEVER transferred to CSC and that all I-485 require an interview. While I'm fed up, there is nothing else I can do...but I will keep calling them and writing them, let them be annoyed...they've locked my account, so now I can't even view it and tell me it's something technical...HANDS IN THE AIR  and I'm waving them like I don't care.

hello everyone. i am visiting from the september filers thread. it's funny because i see a lot of my K1 cohorts here and its like a little reunion. =]

last week adriano and i mailed our rfe for the medical exam. since it seems like many of you had the same rfe, i was wondering how long it generally takes for them to get moving on our case again after they receive the rfe. the docs arrived one week ago (on the 12th), and still no touch. i am getting a little worried, but then again, this is uscis afterall. btw - our case is at csc, if that helps people answer this question more accurately.

i just want to be done with this segment!

i hope you are all doing well!! =]

Tell me about it

I'm thinking I'm gonna have to file AP soon if movement doesn't happen. I'd like to take my wife to England this summer if at all possible it's starting to look like it'll be wise to file AP now just in case

I didn't bother filing one back in August because I didn't think AOS would rattle on this long. We were hoping to be done by Christmas/Jan :crying:

Hi Zee! I hope you are doing great!

Wow, that was fast!! It's been 8 days since our RFE was signed for at CSC, and still nothing. They have some nerve rushing us to get it back in by the 16th, and then just letting it sit there untouched. Grrr USCIS. :ranting:

Providing it's a certified copy of the original entry, it'll be fine. Birth certificates don't 'expire'...

[edit to add] Incidentally, still nothing but silence :crying:

Woohoo!! Congratulations! It is nice to see some good news in here, for a change.

Madelyne--

What Jeremy said is correct about the birth certificate (I used a 1978 certified copy to apply for a passport in 1996 and had no problem). The one proviso I would add is to make sure it is the "long form" of his birth certificate (ie, that it has information about both parents' names on it---some counties do not have short and long forms, though most do). The long form is not required for passport applications but it is for USCIS. (Of course, if you used his 2005 certified copy for the I-129F, you should be fine using the same thing for the interview.)

And of course, good luck on your interview! It's coming up pretty soon!

Thanks SonoranSongbird :) Yes, we used his 2005 certified copy for the I-129F. I also found in his file the original copies of his Registration of Birth Certificate and his Birth Certificate that was issued in the hospital where he was born. Both of these have his parents' names on it. It's nice to have a husband that is organized :) I'm quite nervous as the day get closer for my interview but I'm glad this time my husband will be with me :) I'm praying all will be fine!

Hi guys,

Do we need to get a new birth certificate for my husband who was born in Pennsylvania for our interview cuz the one we have here was issued on 2005 when he applied for his passport?

Thanks!

We didn't bring his birth certificate, the passport alone shows where he was born, the officer didn't ask for any birth certificate anyways, just the passport. From the K1 process start we didn't submit his birth certificate cuz he can't find it. Goodluck for your interview, our interview took less than 10 minutes it was pretty laid back interview.

I had this problem last week. Apparently you can't just type in 'uscis.gov', but you have to make sure to type in 'www.uscis.gov'. If you don't, then that stupid box pops up and it won't let you access the site. Good luck!
