I just sent my package in :clock: . I am so nervous too because I've read that I getting married a short time after being in the US can raise a red flag. I've been here more than five times (as a visitor) but on my last trip, I felt so sad leaving my honey. I am a manager at my job and I could only take leave every six months and it was so hard for me to be away from him that long. I have two questions that I need clarification with:

1) On the I-485, I checked box (h) and stated that I am married to a US citizen. Do you think my pakcage will be sent back for that?

2) The instructions for the G-325a (on the I-130 application) states that the petitioner needs to only sign and date the form, he/she does not have to fill in the information since they have already done so on the I-130 application.

I knew that I would not have a perfect package and I just want things to go well. I appreciate all your answers.

Do you mean you sent the G325A blank, with just a signature? I don't think that's correct. But if anything is wrong, you'll just get an RFE and the opportunity to correct it.

They haven't cashed my check yet. How long before they cashed your checks guys? I thought a week was good. They got my package on Saturday, so it's been about 5 days. I keep checking, but a watched pot never boils. I'm gonna stop logging on to the bank. Soon, they'll call to ask me what I'm doing.

Thanks for your early reply. I copied and pasted the instruction from the I-130 regarding the instruction for the G-325a. I guess the way I read is that since my husband is the petitioner and he's the one filling out the information on the I-130, he just needs to sign and date the G-325a. You're right anyway, if anything they will send me an RFE. I just want to get my EAD and start working, these walls are beginning to get to me.

D. A completed and signed Form G-325A, Biographic Information, for you and a Form G-325A for your husband or wife. Except for your name and signature you do not have to repeat on Form G-325A the information given on your Form I-130 petition.

I just had a thought. The I-485 instructions state they don't cash the check per se, but use the various details on it to make a debit charge to your bank account (and then destroy the original check, having taken a copy). I wonder if the processing time for this varies from bank to bank? I'm not really au fait with banking here, so I've no idea.

From my understanding the processing times are pretty much all the same; bankwise. I think it mostly depends on the employees...some are quick, some are mad slow.

Just like the New York Lotto: Hey it COULD happen! :innocent:

JJ

P.s. For instance I still can't track my case online, everytime I check. It says retrieve failed or case number doesn't exist.

They DO cash checks. Maybe not all, but they cashed mine. I can download a copy of the canceled check from my bank. They don't follow what it says in the instructions.
