my husband has a bank account but they didnt wanna put me on it until i had my social number....and as i got it in december we thought well i use his card...dont have a job so i dont need to be on it....but i will do that soon....

and we cant put ultilities on both names because all is paid by his parents...and they dont wanna change it...i mean they are invited to come over and see that we are living together lol

Okay Goldfee and GFL,

Knock it off, you guys are going to be fine. Goldfee, I remembered a while back when you were worried about something and I told you that you were going to be fine. The IO's are quite friendly and not because one person had a bad experience means that you will too. Heck guys, I was TOLD on one site that the IO is going to ask me a whole lot of questions and I was going to be harrassed and all that. You'd think the person who posted the response was the IO himself. Like Hiedi, I came to the US to visit, got married within a week and ended up staying. I didn't quit my job and I hadn't packed out my personal belonging from the government quarters that I resided in. Just make sure you have your original papers and that the answers you provide are what you have on your application. My husband and I did not have joint account or matching adresses and the utility bills were a trip. The power and water were in the landlord's name and the cable were in her husband's name, I took them anyway and the IO accepted them (I had to tell her that they were husband and wife). I was never questioned about intent, I was not harrassed about joint account or the difference in adresses. To me, if you run in with stuff that has a timeline closer to your interview, then it would look like you are trying to fabricate something. If you have it, you have it; if you don't, don't stress it.

My wedding pictures showed my husband in a polo shirt and jeans and I had on flip-flops and jeans, there were no rings exchanged and when I went to the interview I had no ring on either. Anyway, with what little I had, the IO told me that she was going to approve us and I would get my greencard in the mail in about two to three weeks (our interview was 1/29). She was very nice and when my husband stuttered on our adress, she jokingly asked him if he was sure he lived there.

Start claiming your victory guys, don't let anyone decide your approval for you. The approval is already yours, the guys from USCIS just want to make sure that you are who you say you are. Best of luck to everyone and keep me posted.

I think you got me confused.. I already got my card, not worried about anything. And also, I never, ever, ever .. said I was harassed about my officer or anybody. That is a very strong word in my opinion.

I did tell everyone my experience in details, which was not the most pleasant.

Goldfee is just nervous about the interview .. and that is normal.

My apologies GFL. You are right, I misread your post. I know you did not say that you were harassed by any IO officer, I was making reference to other posting where during the interview some people had the feeling that the IO was harassing them or trying to trip them up. I went back and read your timeline so please accept my apologies. Goldfee, I understand how you feel and I was a bundle of nerves until I got there and we all started cracking jokes to take our minds off the interview. I almost guffawed about a joke my daughter was giving me when the IO came out and called our names. Anyway best wishes to all of you who have your interviews coming up.

Im getting impatient....most october filers already got their GC but why not for august filers like me? I need the GC for my JOB!!!!

anyway, i think it's time to tell hubby to call USCIS.

You shouldn't need a GC for your job - your EAD must (by law) be considered sufficient - the form I-9 that you fill out with your employer makes it quite clear in the very first paragraph:

"Anti-Discrimination Notice. It is illegal to discriminate against any individual (other than an alien not authorized to work in the U.S.) in hiring, discharging, or recruiting or referring for a fee because of that individual's national origin or citizenship status. It is illegal to discriminate against work eligible individuals.

Employers CANNOT specify which document(s) they will accept from an employee. The refusal to hire an individual because the documents presented have a future expiration date may also constitute illegal discrimination."

Jermey my husband is in the same situation, he has a job offer, but because it's in a government building they require all employees working there to have a greencard...I don't understand it, but not much we can do about it right other than wait...I don't know how much longer they'll hold the position the offer was mad Thanksgiving week. It's very fustrating.

********************************************************************************

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Oh, so it's the government violating the anti-discrimination laws  That changes things, I suppose. Not exactly surprised that they don't stick to their own laws

Okay, we got an RFE. I was confuse at first, but I think that I have to do the entire medical over. Or rather Bassi has to do the entire medical over. They asked for I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. But the paragragh says that

A review of the record indicates that you enetered the United States pursuant to a valid K-1/K-2 nonimmigrant visa. All USCIS records relating to you have been reviewed. The U.S. Department of State medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024 and DS-3026 are not in any of those records.

Please submit a properly completed and signed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. The medical exmaination must be conducted by a physicisan who is on the list of Civil Surgeons approved by USCIS.

So, from this, I think it means that we have to do the medical over with a Civil Surgeon over here cause they lost the paperwork that we handed in at JFK. I wonder if our health insurance will pay for this exam cause a lot of people have said the exam is extremely expensive. I have to get it all completed by March 12th. That must also mean the X-rays and lab work that was done in Ghana. We have the immunication card from the clinic in Ghana, so hopefully no vaccinations. We wouldn't be able to get that done by March. Mo' money Mo' money Mo' money!

My wife is still waiting for her GC.

I thought that if transferred to CSC, you would get GC quicker.

I guess that's not the case for us.

I'm getting more impatient than her. <_<

I got welcome letter (approval notice?) on 01/30 and on 02/03 message "card production ordered" changed to "Current Status: Approval notice sent."

If they are consistent it may mean. like in the EAD case, that the "approval notice" is the GC itself....

Well, we got an RFE in the mail for the medical. When I called the misinformation line the IO I talked to made it sound like they made a mistake in saying that I needed to use the correct form (which we did) and told me to send it again. But then, I talked to some other people and came to the consensus that its much better to just do the medical again.

So, my husband is going to get the medical done on Friday (for $200 which I do not think is that bad) and we will return the RFE. Then hopefully our approval will be around the corner :)

I can't wait to get off this rollercoaster

Congratulations on all the good news

You do not have a copy of the vacination record from the medical that was done before the interview at the embassy?

If you have that you can contact Dr Arnold and send it to him and have your medical doctor send record of the shots you were missing. Dr Arnold will then send back a sealed I-693 and an unsealed one as well. All it cost us was $20 for Dr Arnold, and the shots from Charry's doctor were covered on insurance.

The husband of a friend of Charry's was charged like $600+ for a Civil Surgeon visit, and no the insurance does not cover it.

So, my husband is going to get the medical done on Friday (for $200 which I do not think is that bad) and we will return the RFE. Then hopefully our approval will be around the corner :)

From the research I did, it costs $200 out of pocket for the visit, CS's do not accept insurance. If anything needs to be done like tests and/or shots these are on top of the $200 for the visit.

I called yesterday (since my case still can't be viewed online). First lady I talked to had no clue what she was talking about. She was asking if the I-130 was approved yet. I told her we didn't need that because we were filing for AOS. She said I was wrong. But I got tired and said that yes it was approved. So she transfered me to a higher up and that lady told me that they were still working on it and they haven't scheduled an interview yet. I asked her why it wasn't showing up online and she said it was technical difficulties and doesn't know when it will be fixed. Its just frustrating me right now.
