Oh, you're even in TX - so you're in the "greater neighborhood" :-)

Congrats on your passed DL exam - I just called the DPS to ask them about my card, which I have never received in 3 weeks. On your temporary permit, what is the EXP-date of your license ? Mine expires in 6 years, but under "Restriction" it says "P - TEMP VIS ....". Does yours too ?

Guten Rutsch !

Daniel

Hi again :)

Still nothing happening here - still "Case received and pending" on my lonely EAD application and "case processing has resumed" on my the AOS case.

I've filed a 'service request' with MSC now because the target date for the I765 has been and gone. Apparently they should get back to me before Jan 5th but I'll believe that when I see it :P. This can't go on. My wife is supporting two dependent kids and me on her modest salary (which passes the poverty rules but not by much!) and it's running us into the ground. I don't care how long the AOS takes, I just want my EAD <stamps feet>....

As I'm writing this I just watched the mail van skip straight past our house. Again. :(

Adjustment of Status from K-1 (Very abridged version)

05/20/08 - POE: Chicago O'Hare

07/18/08 - Married

04/04/11 - Biometrics appt (notice received 03/19/11)

Yeah, happy new year!

Patrick's greencard still hasn't arrived, but no worries. He's working and we know it's been approved, and we aren't leaving the country any time soon.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope some of you have had some good news in the past week. As for us, our AOS has still not been touched since CSC opened it on October 7.

In case anyone is still wondering about how using the AP works, we used my husband's when we flew home from Calgary. You only need two copies the first time you use it. Although they don't call it this, you are essentially activating it the first time, kind of like the K1. We went into secondary and my husband filled out a new I-94 form. They took the old I-94 out of his passport and replaced it with the new one valid through December 29, 2009, and they stamped the copy of the AP that they gave back to us with a stamp saying he is "paroled into the US" until December 29, 2009. So it looks like if AOS is not approved before the next time we leave the country, he will just need to show his passport and the one stamped copy of the AP and maybe not even have to go through secondary.

It's easy, but we had to wait for them to call us up to the counter for a while, so the first time you use it (if you didn't already), make sure you leave yourself at least an extra 45 minutes or so to clear customs swithing planes (or if you are flying in from Canada, really get to the airport 3 hours befor your flight).
