Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know if any August filers have recieved their SSN. C'se I got my EAD last month and applied for the SSN on the 24th of last month. But still no SSN. I was told that my status has not been updated in the SAVE database. So they have to wait for verification for USCIS.

I've tried calling USCIS 1800 number even went in to the detroit office for an infopass. But they are taking me in circles. I was told to take all my papers to the local office for verification and then they will update the system but The lady at the Detroit USCIS office didn't even want to listen to me.

She said they don't have access to the SAVE database.(which I know for a fact is a lie) They told me to call the 1800 number and as for an SRMT number then they will update the system.

I really need my SSN ASAP. Is there anything I can do.I need help

This system flawed. How can u issue a card and ask someone to wait 2 months to have it verified. yet its only valid for 12 months.

we have the same problem too. I got my EAD last month and applied a SSN right away after I received my card. But when I went to SSA it was found out that my status has not been updated in their data system . I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for verification.

Yesterday, I went to SSA office to get my SSN number , it was verified last Dec. 17 . I will received my card within 2 weeks from the time it was verified.

Just hang in there. Call the local SSA office after 1 month to follow up..

btw i was thinking all the time about u and the interview wich runs so bad and i rode it ever and ever again to find the point...

i spoke to my husband about that..i said well i try to prepare all perfect but maybe perfect is not good enough

i said that u had all ur stuff together and u haf more proofs then us and that really makes me worried..and he told me they are locking for reality not fir a perfect presentation...

i think...its only my opinion and i hope i can help u a little bit with that...because i really thought alot about u and ur case...

soo...i think the problem was this..u showed up there and the officer knows u worked in the states before with the mortage

so he was thinking..moment...she is not working but all money goes on her account??whats that??

then...when the buisness runs so good in the past that she could buy a mercedes,why she did not apply for a E visa....mh now buisness runs bad and she married...ahahaha...do u know what i mean???

then all is so perfect ...why is all so perfect and well organized....do they wanna hide anything???

maybe that was the problem....hope i could help u a little bit and let me know how thinks work out

Hummm ... That does make sense too. I've given up trying to figure out what he was thinking.

After crying all day that day .. and when we finally got home .. I said to myself and my husband .. it doesn't really matter whether he believes me or not .. the fact of the matter is that we are married and I get to bring him back home with me! and at the end of the day that's all that really matters .. your loved ones.. your family.. having them by your side.

Don't worry too much about the interview, you'll get somebody nicer than me. :-) I just got the worst guy in the entire office. I am trying to convince myself that they can't approve everybody everyday and maybe it was time to question my case. I just happened to be the lucky one. And let's also consider I was probably his last case (he told me it was the end of the day) and I waited for almost 3 hours.. He didn't even apologize for making us wait for so long, where we saw the others officers saying.. "so sorry that you were waiting for so long".. whatever .. it is what it is. It will be better next time.. I know.

Just make sure you bring all the documents necessary and make sure your bank accounts are joint (the ones you use to pay all your bills). That's my thoughts to you. 'Cause like you said .. if you worry too much about all the details and over-prepare .. then they question that!!! Go figure.

I am glad you finally got your social. It took forever..

i had the same problem..i wrote it here....go to the ssn office ask if they can make a manuell print out and send it again...i waited 7 weeks.....there is nothing u can do..only waiting...waiting....and waiting...iam sorry...

I applied for my SSN two weeks after I entered the country and it took about a week. Same when I changed my name on it so I am not sure what is causing the delay

Still no job, nothing vaguely useful online or in the job papers I checked. There were more adverts for the papers themselves than for actual jobs

hey jeraly..go to big stores like sears,target,wallmart big lots and so....file applications and if u can start as stocker do it..its a shitty job but its a start

Our AoS has still not been touched since it was received by the California office. This transfer to speed up seems to have ground to a halt.

On the flip side thou, its looking like the standard practice is true on the transfers, that they do not get interviews.

Yeah - I think I would prefer to not have to worry about the interview. But then again, at least with a piece of paper in your hand you kinda have a date in sight...
