Joey_hy---yes, RFE will delay processing of everything (AP, EAD, and AOS). They will put it on hold until they get the RFE response. It is also possible that your EAD is on its way to you and the system has not been updated. That happens a lot.

This is true...AP and EAD just showed up in the mail...almost threw the EAD out because the envelope is unmarked...we were like, what the heck is this.

Hi. New here but me and my wife filed my I485+I765 in early August as well.

We got an RFE for the 465 in late September (stupid mistake ) but dealt with it quickly and it was resumed on Oct 15. Does that put us back to the 'bottom of the pile' processing time-wise? Anyway, I notice that a lot of you who filed at the same time are starting to see movement now, which is hopeful for us because we've had zip. Both cases show the ubiquitous 'pending' status, which of course we're used to seeing, having waited infinity+1 days for the I129F to go through.

My wife is starting to get antsy now (she's not the most patient of people ) because I need employment authorisation. Family of four at Christmas on one modest income is no fun. In the warm fuzzy nirvana of how we imagined it would all go, I was going to be working by now but I have no SSN or EAD so no luck there... Of course another I129F lesson applies, 'never pre-empt because it won't happen how you expect'.

The Step-by-Step Guide on How to File for Adjustment of Status for K1 and K3 Visa Holders page says that EADs for concurrently filed I765s are sent out within 45-90 days in 'most cases'. I guess there's something about ours that isn't a 'most cases' type of case . We tried calling them this morning but their customer service menu system seems to have been overhauled and it's now even more confusing (or should that be totally impossible) to speak to a real person...

Anyway, thanks for reading my vent. Here's hoping for a Christmas gift from USCIS, huh?

I just hope its on its way soon because I have jobs lined up but no way to work. Its pure frustration waiting. Also, does anyone think I should make an infopass appt? Ive been told to just wait it out b/c of the RFE.. but im very impatient as to what is going on.

Our EAD took longer than 90 days. Also, our AOS was approved on December 10th but our online status has never changed, so those awaiting an online status change remember it may not happen. We know AOS was approved and P got his I 551 stamp so it's just a matter of time for the mail to bring our gift!

i just got AOS intial interview letter today by mail.excited and kinda nervous though

here is my journey.

8/1/2008: filed for i765/i485/i131

8/4/2008: got i767 for all three

8/20/2008: biometrics taken (finger print and photo)

10/1/2008: i131 approval notice sent on uscis website

10/1/2008: card production ordered for i765

10/6/2008: i131arrived in mail

10/9/2008: i765 arrived in mail

10/27/2008: initial interview letter notice

11/21/2008: interview date.

applied at national benefit center and i am from Houston, Texas

the interview went fine last month ,but the immigration officer asked me for my original birth certificate, which i didnt have at that time . then the next day I-485 and I-30 got touched but status CHANGED asking for additional evidence(which was the original birth certificate in my original language) then after 1 week i send them my original birth- C which was the beginning of this month. AND TODAY ALL OF THE SUDDEN AFTER 14 DAYS THE STATUS ON I485 CHANGED TO CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED, BUT I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN ANY APPROVAL NOTICE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. IS IT NORMAL? ALSO I30 NEVER GOT UPDATED TO APPROVED. IT STILL SAYS RUQUEST OF ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE
