I know for next time now!! As it happens they did come around but I hid and they went away :D

Best image ever. Aly hiding from missionaries

So we got our Seattle snow finally! It's so freaking cold outside right now (I apologize if you live in a town that really does get winter...but remember I'm a southern transplant!)

It's beautiful though!

I'm in the bedroom today hiding from Jehovah's Witnesses. I got talking to them a couple of weeks ago and they were really nice but they keep coming around and because I am not religious it makes me feel uncomfortable when they read me stuff from the Bible  Back in England I would have just said I wasn't interested and left it at that but now I feel guilty

Hahaha, too funny. Where I lived in Poland, there was a group of JW in the little town I was living in and I think they had a quota of Watchtowers they had to get rid of or something because my ex came right out and told them we were only accepting them to use as kindling for the wood stove and they didn't seem to care. On New Years Eve of the milennium they were even out giving out Watchtowers instead of having fun celebrating. One of them was incredibly handsome and my sister actually wanted me to put her in touch with him--ha!

It is obscenely cold here---it was 13F/-11C with a wind chill of -4F/-20C when I walked the pup this morning. She is half Alaskan malamute, so it did not phase her. It was actually warm yesterday, though, so we have ice all over the roads and sidewalks rather than snow, and there are places where it is re-freezing after being melted by road salt. My husband scraped the ice off my wind shield for me this morning---I love that man!

And we still have no updates from USCIS. Poo balls.

Well... bring on the fanfares... we have RAIN in Palm Springs... currently the roof is not leaking but I don't trust it... The kitten is intrigued because he has never seen rain before and Daisy is grumpy because she is cold. It's about 48 at the moment which is *really* cold for here - it isn't even meant to hit 50 today and we have the heater on.

It's kinda nice - I miss the cooler weather and I am ill AGAIN (just a cold but they always knock me for six since I got here) so snuggling inside with the heater on is really lovely :)

FFS, it is -15 in Calgary with a wind chill of -32. That's obscene. I hope it warms up before we fly!

I'm with the June 2008 fillers.

Our interview was on 12/5/08 and most of the June 2008 fillers still have not received an interview notice. Most of them who received notices are set for a January interview.

USCIS is just moving a little slow, but they will get everyone eventually.

We filled for the AOS in the middle of June and our interview was about six months after the I-485 was submitted.

So I'll be forcasting interview letters to be comming out for majority of August fillers around February for March interview.

By the way, when we received the interview letter in the mail, it just showed up.

There were no updates nor touches in USCIS website. So if you guys are wondering why are there no touches since biometrics, dont worry. We were in the same boat.

I guess we had same lady on same day for interveiw. She said the same to us. Did she took any docs from you? None from us so I was kinda worried initially. After reading some of the online forums, it appears she does that to most people.

Enjoy the holidays!

Hey everyone,

Just an update, I had my interview last dec 9 in Seattle. Officer did not approve us there and then, she said she had to review it later that afternoon and we will know in 4 weeks if they have a decision or if they need more proof from us. We had our marriage certificate, health insurance and loads of pictures to show our bonafide marriage but I guess she needed more.

I try to stay positive about it, my husband is doing a great job on reminding me to not worry about it since we have a genuine relationship and we are so much in love with each other. Its just really frustrating sometimes. You think that we go through alot of things and interrogation before coming here and then when you finally got to be with your partner, they can still be a hinder to the relationship.

I really wish good luck to those of you with interviews coming up and that hopefully you dont experience what we have experienced. I will let you guys know of "their decision" - God I cant believe they decide for our happiness.

Quick update...we went to the INFOPASS meeting on Friday to explain the difficulties with my husband's name on the GC. After talking to a few people they decided he should keep his current GC as both of his name alternatives show up in the immigration computer system. (under "aliases".. it appears as (1) Sole Paternal Last name and 2) Paternal and Maternal last name together. Who knew I married a man with an alias?) So, they think there should be no problem. My husband went to SS yesterday to change the card to say only 1) Sole Paternal LAst name. And, so we are going to go with it!

So, it seems we are done with immigration for two years. I don't feel like it is really real....like maybe there are lurking problems for the first time we fly out of the country. who knows....but we are going to try thinking happy thoughts (with the -0 F temps in MN!)

Take care everyone. "Stay Warm"
