My wife from Mexico came to the US with me on May 21st of this year ! We were married on the 24th. Our K1 visa is good until till August 14th. I know that we have to file the I485 to adjust our status. But what happens if you can not file before that date ? What should we do. Thanks Chuck and Teresa

The K1 is a one time entry visa... you simply had to use it to enter and marry by that date. ;) The expiration no longer means anything.

There is no real set time to file for AOS... some wait years. Of course, you/your fiance are 'out of status' so if issues arise it can be hard to deal with. Just file as soon as you can. ;)

there have been people who didn't file the AOS right away after marriage...the key thing is getting married during the 90 days upon entry with the K1....of course as everyone states, better to get it done sooner than later though...
