Folks

Since one of my old time favorites (JAWS-sure it looks a little dated) is on tonight I thought I would ask

what movies you rented / shared with your SO when they arrived. Movies that would serve as

an introduction to USA.

Maybe God Father 1&2

Goodfellas

Well I need some help from the ladies for some good "chick flicks".

"Office Space" is a great movie that pretty much shows how corporate America works in a hilarious way. She might not get the jokes though. :P

"Steel Magnolias" is a great southern chick flick that she may like. It will also show her what life may be like in the south.

"The Sandlot" is another good movie that will show her what kids do in the summer time while their on vacation.

"A Christmas Story" is a wonderful Christmas movie.

I'll see if I can come up with more movies that may show her what life in America can be like.

My SO has seen many English movies, but he was/is missing some important classics. The worst part of missing these is you miss some key punch lines and references in TV/movies/late night TV, etc. I've started, but have more work to do! A few that come to mind:

Monty Python

The Princess Bride

It's a Wonderful Life

The Wizard of Oz

The Lion King

Oh, "The Wizard of Oz" is a classic...

My husband likes any action movies and has watched more movies than anyone else I know. But he prefers the movies on TV here than in Brazil because they cut out A LOT of the movie in his country.

The thing with us is that any movie that has come out, he's probably seen in Jamaica. They copy those suckers as soon as they come out. I always laughed when I talked to him and he was watching some new movie that was just in our theatres here.

This is exactly what I was talking about. My GF has also seen many modern American movies but I want her to see

the "Classics" .

I dont believe I forgot It's a Wonderful Life.

I just don't think she would like Cllint Eastwood in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
