Phew, today has been busy! We leave for Canada tomorrow at 8 am (well, drive to the airport at 8 am) via Rochester, NY. We will probably reach Kingston around 5 this evening and will be there until Monday, when we do the trip in reverse and get back home Monday evening. My cat sitter is all lined up, instructions for food and water and litter are ready, catfood is out, Tristan goes over to her place tomorrow morning before we leave (the others bully him when we are away so she protects him, hehehe and he gets along well with her dog). Today, I had no internet access for the whole day - how frustrating! - but I got everything done too, hehehehe. The garden will have to fend for itself this week - I watered everything and then mother nature helped with a thunderstorm and rain so that is good. We have harvested all of the cucumbers, okra, peppers, beans, zucchinis and tomatoes that are ready and today I processed them all and choped them up and froze them. I hated to freeze the cucumbers but they wouldn't have kept and I didn't have time to do anything else - we froze 14 quarts! Plus 14 quarts of tomatoes, 4 pints of okra, 1 of beans, the peppers are drying and also 4 quarts of Zucchini. Phew! My hands are like dishpan hands.

So, I won't be on until we get back. I'll have access at my Dad's place but there are so many things we want to see and do that we will probably need a vacation from our vacation! See you next week - and happy weddings those who are getting married this weekend!

Have a safe and fun trip

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Officially Engaged December 24th, 2007!!!

Moved to the U.S. to be with my baby on July 19th, 2008 on a K1 visa!!!!

Enjoy the Civic Holiday Weekend. Be safe and have a blast. I'm just looking forward to my first trip home to Canada and that won't be for a while yet. :unsure:

April 16, 2009 - 2 yr GC rec'd in mail.

March 2, 2011 - Mailed in I-751 to CSC

March 4, 2011 - I-751 delivered to CSC

March 4, 2011 - NOA issued

March 12, 2011 - NOA received

April 14, 2011 - BIO Appt 5/6/11

May 6, 2011 - BIO done in 10 minutes...no re-takes this time :)

June 27, 2011 - Email rec'd "Status - Approved"

July 1, 2011 - 10 yr GC arrived

Sounds like your garden is full like mine, except the heat has killed off my cucumbers. Anyways, have a safe and enjoyable trip back to Canada and give us the details when you get home.

10/24/2007 - INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!....APPROVED!!

10/30/2007 - Visa in hand!

AOS Timeline:

1/30/08 - Sent AOS pkg Priority Mail with USPS

3/12/08 - Biometrics taken

3/29/08 - EAD and AP in hand for me and my son

5/21/08 - Email-GC on its way!...RFE for my son's application

5/27/08 - GC arrives!!!

7/02/08 - Sons GC arrives!!!

ROC TIMELINE

3/23/10 - ROC sent!

3/29/10 - NOA1

4/22/10 - Biometrics Appt for me and my son

6/30/10 - Email saying card production ordered for me and my son

7/6/10 - Letter in the mail saying cards will arrive within 60 days

7/10/10 - Both cards received!
