there was a water main break that lifted the road way ... missed where it was.... corner of Eastern and City Terrace...

its not fun when it is your first earthquake you have felt...

they say there have been a lot of aftershocks too....

Yeah, I can imagine its scary to some. Sorry for that. Didnt mean to sound insensitive. I guess all the EQ's I've experienced usually I just stay where i am..in bed mostly cause they are at night. If it shakes bad I get up. but they are so quick, by the time its started its already over. I'm much more fearful of hurricanes and tornados. The damage from those its much more wide spread and disaterous.

Those aftershocks would barely make the news if they were primary earthquakes.

No reports of serious damage so far. Aparently it was felt as far away as Las Vegas...

I dont think it would be much damage as it was centered very deep in the earth so by the time we felt it on ground it was just a swaying rolling EQ. Those dont do much, nor do you feel them much. Now the shaky choppy ones that make the earth rumble are scary.

I'm glad there wasnt any damage. It did make me a bit nausceous. I was at work with coworkers in the conference downtown LA and we feel shaking all the time. So for the first few seconds we just sat there looking at one another.

Haven't heard that yet. They say there are a number of different measuring systems, which partly accounts for the differences in rating.

Everyone always talks about Northridge as being the scariest experience of their lives. What will I be like should there be one that bad if this is "not scary" according to you EQ vets?
