Just trying to get a realistic time frame of the Houston filers. Wife's Biometrics were quick, but since then we haven't heard a thing or been touch. Wondering how long the interview letter has been taking, and/or the interview date. Notice Smartie is a bit a head of me but hasn't posted anything on their progress, which I am assuming means no progress. Anybody else? Bueller...Bueller..

Thank you.

Yeah, I don't really trust that USCIS timeline guide. Looking at others it has typically been way off. I figure there has to be more people out there who filed at the Houston office. I mean it is the 4th Largest city, to give a more accurate repersentation of the timeline.

You were approved at the interview? And they did not check that box in your interview summary sheet that said more evidence is required? So you check your mail box everyday expecting that oath appointment but got a RFE instead?

That is scary, our oath letter is due any day now, if it ever comes in, so don't know whether to be excited or panicked until it's opened. If they request more evidence from us, I don't have the slightest idea of what more we have here to send to them. IO spent 20 minutes of my wife's 31 minute interview on checking all of our original documents. Wife said she wanted our original divorce papers, but she can't have those, she already has the copies, also my original birth certificate, but she had a copy of that as well. Hope this is not a reason to be rejected, could have kept my birth certificate, only a couple of bucks, but those divorce papers, especially hers from a foreign country would cost us a small fortune.

She did take and keep the three last years of our tax returns with the W2's and 1099's, I have the forms on my computer, but I haven't checked to see if I have additional W2's and 1099's yet, normally don't copy those. IRS says to hang onto these for at least three years and maybe five in the event of an audit, but the odds of getting called in our nil. But what can I say? The USCIS took them? Crazy.

That's my frustration! Yes, was approved at the interview. My husband said the IO went through his file as he asked him questions, everything was straight forward. Quite simple and uncomplicated, gave him the "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval" letter. He even returned old wedding photos that I had forgotten about from 2001.

A side note, my husband is an educated professional, speaks perfect English, knows US and world history better than me, we have a daughter together, a mortgage together, bank accounts together, ect......(they have all the documents)

Another piece of history, we were one of the ones that got caught in the HUGE post 9/11/01 hold up. Believe me, we know about waiting. It took 4 years to get the greencard. I rarely play the "poor pitiful me" song, but I believe I can I am due to whine a little bit.....Sorry guys!

Would you mind sharing what evidence they requested? Tax returns?

Wife is also a professional, worked as an executive assistant for 25 years at an American based medical supply company in Venezuela. One of her tasks was to translate English to Spanish and vice-versa. Taking a strong interest in US politics, could have transferred to NJ, but trying my way of life in a quiet wooded area. Is a city girl and talks about moving back, but we are close to St. Paul, Milwaukee, Wausau, Madison, and Chicago and she is five minutes from work here. We have gone to every attraction these cities offer, but I feel it's kind of nice to leave that major traffic jam behind. Am I being stubborn? But we have one of the best fresh water lakes in the world near here that attracts people from all over the world and one of the finest bike trails in the world, she likes that. Also the EAA show only 90 minutes away and the worlds largest antique car show we missed a couple of weeks ago about an hour away. But a boy with his toys, end up buying something I really don't need. LOL.

She took college courses here, we live eight blocks away from a university to become a certified medical interpreter and is doing very well, quite a woman. She gained 8 pounds over the winter, went to the Y last night to work it off, but was called for an emergency, I have ten pounds to work off, LOL, so we are even.
