Hong Kong Police certificate

My wife worked in Hong Kong for a couple years so I understand she'll need a police clearance from them. I think they only send them direct to the embassy when requested. So we got our NOA2 and I'm assembling documents to send to NVC. My question is will NVC hold up getting her an interview date because lack of HK police clearance?

I'd appreciate the experience of others who had to get HK police clearance.

I worked in HKG for 3 1/2 years in the British Military, so I guess I need to get a Police Certificate from the HKG Police.

The following is segment 3 from what I would need to send to get the certificate. Sorry for being thick but what does it actually mean?

3. the original and photocopy of a document proving his/her relationship with the principal applicant for the visa if item #2 does not contain the applicants name;

06/01/09 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP

06/23/09 - Moved to CSC

Yes, because until the file is complete it is not forwarded to the consulate. The applicant is not yet ready to be interviewed until file is complete...

YMMV

Marilyn was employed in Hong Kong for a period of time. We were able to get a letter stating that the request is needed on behalf of the US embassy from St Lukes. Used that letter along with the MNL number to ask for the police clearance. Also had emails from HK police giving us the time when it was sent to the embassy and the registered mail number.

Marilyn and Peter.

K-1 Timeline in Profile (our story)

Church wedding Sept 18

NOA1's for AOS/EAD received Sept 20 MSC #

Biometrics completed Nov 5 2004

EAD Approval Dec 29 2004

AOS appointment letter received Feb 3 2005

AOS interview scheduled for March 9 2005

AOS interview mostly fine, just need I-693 supplement filled out by civil surgeon

Spend another $40 for I-693 form, sent to local USCIS office registered mail, arrived March 11 2005

AOS finally approved March 25th 2005

Green card arrives about 10 days later

!!Green card has incorrect middle name!! Thanks USCIS

Travel back to Denver, turn in card and I-90 to correct their mistake.

Application accepted, asked for I-551 stamp, they told me "We don't do stamps anymore"

NOA1 for I-90 received from NSC April 18 2005, fee waived

NSC appears to have stoped processing I-90's

Marilyn needs to travel back to the RP, call Senators office for help with green card or I-551 stamp

Travel back to Denver July 1, 2005 and received I-551 stamp in the passport.

We started our HK police certificate, almost 2 weeks ago.You have to wait until u get your NOA2, then after 10-14 days, u can go down to the embassy, at window #38, and give the person your information, by then they should have all your papers from NVC.The clerk will give u a request form, and what to send.Thats not enough, u have to get more papers from HK police station, and then send it end.We had someone in HK take the information to the station for us.We were told it takes about 4 weeks to complete, and they will forward it to the US embassy in the Philippines. My fiancee', lives in Manila so she was able to go and take care of the business. Now if u live in the province, e-mail them and hopefully they will send the forms to you, they are aware of what u need. Good Luck

This topic is a few years old, and the previous poster has not be on VJ in over 2 years. You may do better to start a new topic with your questions.
