From reading the step-by-step guide on this site, have believed that the I-134 is to be taken by the fiancee to the interview. I filed my I-129F back in April and am just now getting the documents ready for my fiancee to take to the interview, which I guess will be in November, and I find this on the USCIS web site:

"Once the [i-134] form is affirmed*, it should be mailed to the same USCIS office where the application was filed."

Yikes! Was I suposed to have sent the I-134 in with my I-129F?

(*By affirmed they mean notarized.)

You had it right the first time. The clause you quoted doesn't apply in the K visa context. Not sure where it applies but not for K visas.

Correct, the I-134 is required for visa interview, not when you file I-129F

USCIS no longer routinely uses this form for anything, so does not have much call to update the directions for the form.

Time to update profile to show "Filed For: K-1" http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

I notice they also don't update the form -- the expiration date on the form fresh off their website is 4/30/07.

NOTE: "OMB No. 1615-0014; Exp. 04-30-07" IS NOT the form's expiration date, this is the date when a survey conducted by Office of Management and Budget, is due, this survey determines how long it takes to fill the form out, per the disclaimer in the forms instructions:

VII. Paperwork Reduction Act Notice.

You are not required to respond to this form unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number.

Joint and Several Liability Issues.

Incorrect payments that are not repaid will be withheld from any subsequent payments for which the alien or sponsor are otherwise eligible under the Social Security Act or Food Stamp Act.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Agriculture are authorized to obtain copies of any such documentation submitted to USCIS or the U.S.Department of State and to release such documentation to a State public assistance agency.

An alien applying for TANF or Food Stamps must make similar information available to the State public assistance agency.

VI. Privacy Act Notice.

We try to create forms and instructions that are accurate, can be easily understood and impose the least possible burden on you to provide us with information. Often this is difficult because some immigration laws are very complex.

Thought I might as well add my experiences. I brought the I-134 with me and gave to my fiancee for the interview - but they didn't request it. We freaked out afterward (when we realized this) and wound up submitting it through a side gate (per consulate instructions for document submittal), but I still don't know if anyone actually looked at it.
