When I desired to seek a wife after being divorced for some time with custody of the children who were approaching ages of independence, I did a looking. As I was new in the area, and not close to my home town, I started looking very local and branched out. I dated many different women of different nationality and heritages as in the usa many people are a generation or two from some where else.

Along the way I was exposed to some filipina which were of a personality which suited me. Also, I learned more about my wants and desires for a mate. The usa filipina generally did not match , as among other things, I did not wish to have this mate already have children. I also corressponded with some filipina friend or relative of local filipina. Ultimately, I used one of the internet services. I also studied the culture through books and reading and other people. Then I decided to seek a filipina from the Philippines.

And after a lot of effort and learning , found the one who I expect to marry for the lifetime.

And she will arrive here in 2 days.

Ah, ok...hehehe. Glad to finally meet a Filipina/American here. I hope one the Americans will answer my question - whether they see a difference between 'fresh-off-the-boat' Filipinas or ones that have been here awhile or perhaps even born in the states. In California, there's over a million Filipinos. :)

You should stick around at this site - we could use your perspective.

BTW, Speedo and Ronjie, my wife has family in New Jersey as well. I'll have to ask where though.

Jabberwocky your son is stinking cute!!! How old is he? I have a 14 months old boy.

I usually just lurk, but I've been sick since Friday. I've been summoned by my husband not to do anything since Friday, so I have some free time to post and lurk more. I think I'm going stick here for a while.

I speak my mind, so please don't take it personally.

hehehe...thanks. He's 4 1/2 months old. His mom has started to work again - has a distant relative nearby whose husband (also Filipino ...attended same university) is a dentist with his own practice. He's the sweetest little baby, smiles at everybody like he's a celebrity. :jest:

Do you speak Bisaya?

Awww. . . My son thinks he's a celebrity. He loves to smile and wave! They grow so fast dude. Enjoy every single moment.

Who babysit your son? I'm a SAHM since I was 5 months pregnant. I was gonna go back to work when my son was about 8 months, but I just couldn't do it. We are lucky enough that we can afford for me to be a SAHM.

I don't speak Bisaya :( Your wife speaks Bisaya?

Definately good at marketing themselves too....Why would anyone need to keep reminding themselves and others of their 'Qualities' otherwise

i've wondered that too

my opinion, they are educateing the curious. if you were not curious, you would not read it. I hope it was a learning experience

i'd liken it more to chest thumping and stereotype building.

Do you ever get the feeling that maybe....just maybe..... the government of the Philippines is sponsoring the "Meet a Pinay, Get a Wife!" sites as a way to rid itself of it's most useless, annoying, childish, stupid, and prone-to-gain-60-pounds-once-in-the-US women?

Maybe it's just me.

But then.....EVERY Filipina that I have seen in Indiana is at least 60 pounds overweight. So maybe........

Perhaps you are one of the men who have already heard about the beauty of Filipino girls but continue wondering what makes Filipino women that special. Here are some reasons for dating a Filipino Girl that may give the answer to your question:

Filipina girls are renowned for their beauty.

Filipinas stand out among Asian women in terms of charm and femininity.

Filipino women are naturally romantic, loving and caring.

They are not only beautiful women but a delight to be around because of the famous Filipina disposition and personality. Many Filipinas have instilled in them since birth a sense of honor called Delikadesa. It is this sense of Delikadesa that gives them such fine admirable qualities you just won't find in ladies of the western world. You will never find a proper Filipina lie, cheat, or steal – it will bring shame upon her and her family.

Filipino women put family first before money.

To the Filipina, family will always remain a great priority. The Filipina, whom many would consider as having come from a relatively poor country, will view the close loving bonds of the Filipina Family as her wealth. The Filipina women are more willing to sacrifice career than a family.

Filipinas are religious.

Phillipines is the only christian nation in the far east.

Filipina women believe in a one-man one-woman relationship

An interesting fact is that there is no "absolute divorce" in Philippines. There is only "relative divorce" in a form of "legal separation” (husband and wife are only separated from bed and board but marriage remains in full force). Marriage in such a country where they simply do not have divorce laws is always considered a life long commitment. Filipinas welcome their responsibilities towards keeping her husband happy and strive to never lose his attention. Luckily for her most Filipina Ladies are often petite tender beautiful warm loving creatures you will never tier of giving your affection to.

Filipino girls are understanding, patient and supportive.

Even loud verbal arguments or fighting would be to de-face her self and most Filipinas would simply never engage in any such acts. This soft spoken, quiet, understanding nature of the Filipina Ladies is a desired trait many of them strive towards.

Filipinas are optimistic and have flexible personality.

They have a great sense of humor.

Filipino women are excellent home keepers.

Filipino ladies equate domestic responsibility with being a good wife (or potentially a good wife). Philippines practices "patriarchal" form of society and traditionally husbands are providers while wives are meant to stay home to keep the family in order and look after the children.

The Filipina Lady's home is a great source of pride for her. For the Filipina girl to yell in her home is to de-face her home so you will never find her screaming or breaking dishes.

Filipina girls are well educated.

The Philippine culture places a huge emphasis on a college education. An environment of importance towards education and pride in accomplishment at school is instilled in the Filipina's family.

Offers very high respect to partners or provider in the family.

Some, actually many who marry these Filipina beauties, swear they make the best wives in the world, not only beautiful, but loyal, loving and faithful past death.

Filipina-American marriages are more successful than American-American marriages.

It is interesting to note that Filipina girls - American men marriages arranged through dating services, would appear to have a lower divorce rate than the nation as a whole. The divorce rate of these marriages is 20% while the standard American- American marriage of today has about a 40% chance of divorce, though the statistics vary wildly according to which source you use.

well , I understand, this site is very confusing, at first I thought it was to support people going through tough time's with their visa journey, but I soon found out it was a forum for entertainment and sarcasm. for the bully with the big mouths and bad maner's to have their way with the sometimes shy and quiet folks just looking for common grounds to share their experience while they wait through this very tough time. and we are married (K3 ) so it's Mrs. or Mr.,... not Ms.

Ohhh so very true
