After a nine week delay due to an unessasary medical test my fiancee finally got her interview on july 11, 2008 at the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines. We have filed for a K1 fiance visa.

The pre screener did not take any of the mountain of evidence that we had gathered together. IE Pictures. reciept, emails. yahoo messages, bank statement. employer statesments. ect. The only thing they wanted was the tax returns. They didnt even take the letter showing that we are represented by an attorney.

Anyways,

Her interview lasted maybe 10 minutes, I was not there. The lady told her that she needed to review the papers. She was givin a pink slip and a white letter. The white letter did not indicate anything on it. it had none of the boxes checked for further documents needed ect. It only said wait till you hear from us. The interviewer told her to wait for her name to be called.

Her name was called and at this point she paid the delbros visa delivery fee. ( We Think )

anyways,

We had hoped that since the medical test had caused us a nine week delay that we would get the visa right away but instead we are experiencing an additional delay. I have called the 888 number and I keep getting the same girl. The last time I called she told me that OUR CASE HAS BEEN REFERRED TO THE CONSULAR FOR FURTHER REVIEW.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY INFO ABOUT THIS?

I am 54 and my fiancee is 28 does age difference matter?

What futher review could they possibly want? They didnt ask us for any further documents.

Please advise

Don't worry about the age difference because it doesn't matter to them. I believe your fiancee is under administrative review because of the infamous Document Verification that can take God-only-knows-how-long. Just keep on following up with Delbros if they have forwarded her documents to USEM and also make calls at USEM and see if they received the papers from Delbros. A lot of people got stucked with this so your fiancee is not the only one. Being given the pink slip and paying delivery fee are good signs that the interview went ok. They just need to wait for the verification to be finished.

Good luck!

Just copied this from the US Consulate in Manila's web page:

Document Verification Fee

Applicants whose visa eligibility is dependent upon their marital status (i.e. K-1, K-3, CR-1, IR-1, F-1 and F2-B categories) will normally need to have their documents verified through the National Statistics Office (NSO) before the U.S. Embassy in Manila can issue the visa. Those with a delayed birth or death certificate or only local civil registrar copies of such documents may need to have their documents verified.

In order to avoid unnecessary delay in the visa issuance process, the U.S. Embassy in Manila strongly encourages applicants in the categories mentioned above to pay the document verification fee prior to their immigrant visa interview. Payment can be made through any Metrobank location. The cost of the document verification is PhP 650 per applicant. For specific instructions on how to pay the document verification fee, please click here. If you are unable to pay for the document verification before your immigrant visa interview, you may be asked to pay the fee on the day of your interview. Please note that if you pay on the day of your interview, there will be a delay of one to two weeks in the processing of your application.
