I bought my husband up here Feb 08, thinking what we really had was a marriage. Come to find out that we really didnt. Once he located his family and established relationships he moved a couple states away. What can I do, could i send him back? I discovered that he neither his family care for americans and thought all types of things of me. I feel horrible. I bought him up here, and has supported him since because he still hasnt worked.

I guess you would call INS or go to the local office and see what your options are. I would guess that depends on entirely what you want to do.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband turned out to be a fraud and wish you the very best.

As for his legal status, there is nothing you can do at the moment, he has his 2 year conditional residency in place and it will be good for two years. He then will have to apply to Remove Conditions and he will only be able to do so if he can prove that he went into the marriage in good faith and that things just didn't work out between you two. It is then your responsibility to prove otherwise, keep all the evidence you have right now that shows he used you to come to the US and not because he wanted to be with you. That is your only hope. If he is able to Remove Conditions on his own, he will receive his 10 year green card and there is nothing else you can do about it.

I am very sorry to hear about your husband. I have read some other similar posts in the past on this forum. I do not know if you can take any action against him before his current green card expires which I think will be in the next two years...and then he would need to apply for the removal of conditions so he could get a 10 years GC. I think you should speak to him and whoever is there as his family. It is very unethical what he did and nothing can justify his act but if you feel you want to make this work then you should speak to him. I hope things resolve between you both. By the way, Bought is the past tense of Buy. I am sure you meant to write Brought which is the past tense for Bring. No big deal but if he wants to play dirty and make you upset..give him HELL. :bonk:

i believe u can also withdraw your affidavit of support and do that from now, i belive there is a forum called family matters or something like that here on vj and they can give u the best advice on how to deal with this situation.

I just remember that he can actually file for divorce and Remove Conditions right now if he wants to, he wouldn't have to wait the 2 years to do so. So it's best to talk with the USCIS or make an info pass appointment with your evidence to see what you can do. They may be able to put that on his file so that when he removes conditions, it'll come up and he will have a hell of a time trying to get his 10 year green card.

Very sorry to hear that. So sad and unthought of. Like S AL said the GC is valid for 2 years only. But you can still report to DOS and that you must do. Talk to DOS and find out what are your options. People cheat and that leaves a bad impression and genuine people suffer.

File a complaint in the police that your husband is missing. They will tace him out. You must teach him a lesson.

God bless you.

Sympathy doesn't help, you need an immigration attorney to clear you from that I-864, the odds are weak that he will apply for an I-751, more typical is a name change and a counterfeit SS card, more difficult is to counterfeit a driver's license, but they are working on that as well. Referring to the illegals.

Doesn't make sense that he would run so close to getting his ten year card. With that I-864, and I am putting him in the illegal class where this aid is available, you can get stuck with one heck of a large bill, particularly if it's medical related, that I-864 is your prime concerned, you made a contract with the US government to fully support him.
