Ok maybe now that I received my approval I am getting paranoid of what could go wrong - haha, I know real positive.

I am really nervous that the Embassy will deny us because of no common language.. He speaks spanish fluently and hardly any English. I speak English and not so good Spanish. We do speak for hours on the phone because the Spanish I do speak he understands (one of those odd couple things), and I can understand him if he speaks slow enough. We have spent 3 vacations together and between the Spanish I speak and the pocket dictionary I possess, the language was not a problem at all. I really wanted to go to the interview with him because the prevoius two times that he went for a tourist visa (after him and I met and had my name on the forms when he applied) he got denied, for the pure basis they did not think he would return to Chile.

Any thoughts on this?

As long as you can established a bonafide relationship between the two of you, and able to get married within 90 days, it shouldn't be a problem because Tourism visa is different from this K1 visa.

Thanks, I've now been down there 3 times in the last year (plenty of receipts, pictures, etc), so I can definitely show an established relationship.. I am just wondering about the language barrier, and if me going to the interview will do more harm than good. I personally think flying down again and going w/ him will show even more that we are together. I will have to practice my spanish even more :)

In our group not being able to talk same languages does give us problems, most of our men do know fairly good english and those that dont sometimes have problems, guess depends on your embassy have you talked to others that had same problem to see how they handled them, might mention one of you is going to take lessons asap to learn.

Exactly! If either one of you is making the effort to learn, that's good points!!!

You will be fine I think.

Provide evidence of your abiity to communicate. In my wife's interview, she was asked if she spoke English, to which she answered, "A little." She gave the same answer when asked if I spoke Mandarin. The pleasant interview then continued in Mandarin and the visa was granted.
