I have a question regarding the poverty line and household....

My husband is living with his parents at this time...He works in a casino and make $22k a year.

He got 2 kids and he is supporting them (automatically deducted from his pay). The kids is living with the mothers since baby.

My question is:

1) How many household HE SHOULD PUT? Should he put 3 (him and his 2 kids)?

2) Am i included in the household or not?

3) Does he need to get a joint sponsor even he makes $22,000 a year?

4) I read the poverty line and if u have 3 households, shud have $22,000 (125%)

I hope you can really help me about this .. my husband and i doesnt know about this stuffs.. we just met online and got married last february 2008... we never thought this wud be hard but im hoping that anyone here in VJ can give us ideas or a lil help.

GOD bless and enjoy ur day

He should put down either the amount of people that live with him (people he supports) or dependents that he lists on his taxes. So if he lists his children on his tax returns, and they don't live with him he still needs to include them as dependents on affidavit of support. At least that is how I understand it.

According to the I-864 instructions, he must include the dependent children even if they are not claimed on his tax return. The household size will be 4--the sponsor, his 2 children and the beneficiary.
