Approved!!!

I got my notice today (I -797) that my petition has been Approved!

1) on the letter it says that its valid from 7/23/08 to 11/23/08 - does this mean that I have till 11/23 to get all the rest of the paperwork finished as well as the interview?

2) The letter also said that the petition has been forwarded to the listed consulate but it didn't list anything. Is that a problem?

3) I'm freaking out!

4) How soon should I be expecting my package of information? That's what happens right?

I can't believe that she might be here by Christmas I'm just really excited. I know I have a few hurdles to jump and I plan to contact Marc Ellis about them. But I know God will not let me down.

Read this first What happens next depends very much on the Consulate you are going through. Normally your fiance would receive a packet of forms and information to collect. You will need to send her the affidavit of support..etc. As mentioned to you previously..read the guides.

You're going to want to visit the regional threads and do some reading since you're going through HCMC. I would do my very best to educate myself to the process. This is where it could get sticky for you.

Congratulations!!

As another poster has already pointed out, everyone should fill out their timelines. By doing so, others can see how long it takes to get from one stage of this process to the other. The software on this site then can give others a more accurate picture of how long things are taking now.

You can see from our case (timeline below and on the link to the timeline page) What happened and when. There's no cut and dry schedule as people who filed the same day can get approvals, interview dates, etc at different times. But you can get an idea from looking at ours and others.

We hope you get a pink slip and are together soon!!
