Hey all. My fiance will finally have her final interview in less than 2 weeks. woohoo

Anyhow, I dont show enough financial supporting income, being self employed, so i have my father as a secondary I-134 financial support, and his income is more than good enough.

Is having a good secondary I-134 applicant truly acceptable in their eyes? I just worry they will still scrutinize my income, and look for reasons to deny.

My question is whether I might attach a letter to my tax returns to simply explain my financial tax situation being a self emplyoed business owner?

Any thoughts?

Thankssssssssss

Hi lotuspearls,

The DOS visa information office told us that my son should write a letter and have it notarized as to his financial situation. He didn't file for 2007, due to being a student abroad, supported by his GI bill benefits. His income for the first half of this year was adequate. The number for visa info is 202-663-1225. There was a sealed I-134 from Dad in the bottom of the file. Unfortunately, we don't know whether they opened it or not, but he did hand it over to the screener, so I'm assuming they did. My DIL's interview was easy (other than waiting for five hours). I don't think they are big on looking for ways to deny in Bangkok. The case was pretty much decided by the time she got to the window. You can read more about the kids experience on the Sawasdee 2 thread.

Best wishes for the interview,

Thai Mom

It's not only acceptable in their eyes but mandatory if you don't have enough income according to the poverty guidelines for 2008. If you don't, then your father has to file a separate notarized I-134 and attach the financial supporting documents with it. You need to do the same.

That's all. It's very common to have a co-sponsor.
