I was required to get vaccinated with the new Gardasil vaccine before entering the US on a K1 visa. I got my first shot in May and am now due for my second shot. (the vaccine is one shot, then 1 more after 2 months, then another shot in 6 months) There have been reports of people dying from this vaccine and I really don;t want to get my other 2 shots.

What can I do? Will I have to get them? Is there a way around this? When I apply for AOS will they be checking to see if I had my shots???

For AOS you need to provide vaccination record to a US Civil Surgeon, most doctors will sign off on the required I-693 after you started a series of vaccinations and leave it up to you to complete them.

My wife had MMR started overseas, that was enough for the doctor, and AOS. Later my wife stated college, and the college required evidence of immunity to measles (MMR), and only saw that she started the series, we went and got tested for measles (Titer Test) and they accepted that.

Not seeing that one on the new required list: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

For most the old requirements were: MMR, Varacela (Chicken Pox), Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids.

CS's are now also required to do a TB skin test.

There have been reports of people dying from this vaccine and I really don;t want to get my other 2 shots.

3.7 million girls in Australia have been vaccinated since the launch of our national immunisation program last April and only 1013 adverse side effects (allergic reactions, dizziness, fainting and nausea) have been reported.

I think the benefits of this vaccine far outweigh the potential side effects

Gardasil is still a relatively new vaccine, and all of the adverse effects are just now starting to be seen. Please talk to your doctor if you concerned about its effects. You can check out the latest adverse events by inquiring of the national adverse events reporting system at vaers.hhs.gov.

Good luck!
