Hi all,

I just got an RFE related to my I864 form. It says "In order to process your application further, the petitioner/sponsor on Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, must submit all supporting tax documentation (W-2s, 1099s, etc) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the most recent tax year."

Underneath this typed portion is handwritten:

"W2 and Tax Schedules for 2007 for Rebecca" (I am Rebecca).

I'm fairly clear on what they want but I wanted to check and make sure cuz I can't bear more hold-ups on this process. By "tax schedule" do they mean my full tax return for 2007 submitted to the IRS? The word "schedule" is throwing me off since there are Sched A and B in tax forms. I did include my 2007 tax return in my application, along with previous 2 years, but I did not include W2's. I'm assuming they want the full thing again because my W-2's were missing. I also submitted Schedule B for my 1099's - do you think I should actually send my 1099 forms sent to me by the banking institutions?

Also, when they say "include this letter with your response" do they mean the actual letter or is a copy of the RFE letter sufficient? You can never be too sure with USCIS!

Thanks

You must include the original RFE letter in the package when you respond to the RFE. Keep a photocopy for your records.

Sounds to me like they want complete tax return for 2007 plus W2s.

Thanks for the reply. I'll send the original letter, copies of my tax return as before and the W-2s, along with a cover letter.

Any other quick tips?

By schedules, they mean all the forms you used. For example, if you itemized deductions that year, your return would have schedule A along with your 1040. I would include EVERY SINGLE PAGE OF YOUR 2007 TAX RETURN just be safe. Also, make sure to include a copy of all w-2's and 1099's you received that year.
