I received an email today that gave the date for my Turkish fiance's interview, and I want to make sure that he has everything he needs for that. My biggest concern is proof of our relationship. Here's what we have:

-photos and boarding passes from my two trips to Turkey to be with him in '07

-emails from the last 2 years

-instant message conversations from the last few months (almost every day)

-receipt from a package i sent to him around February 08

-phone bills from March and April 08 showing a few international charges, though we dont talk often on the phone

-he may buy me a ring in Turkey and bring the receipt to the interview

I am concerned because the bulk of evidence for the last 8 months is instant messages and emails. I don't know if that is considered reliable evidence from the embassy.

If my fiance and I had some family members write letters about our engagement, would it help? For example, when I was in Turkey, I lived with his mom and we became quite close, so would it help if she wrote a letter about my visits there and her desire for me to marry her son?

Last question:

I sent him the I-134 and supporting evidence, and I also sent him some of the evidence mentioned above. He sent all of this to the embassy before they set the date for his interview. Now they are telling him to bring the I-134 to the interview, and I also know that he has to bring evidence of our relationship to his interview. Do I have to send him another copy of the I-134 and relationship evidence, or will the embassy save these things for the interview?

I understand that no one can give me any definite answers, but any advice would be extremely appreciated, thanks.

Jenn

Hi...

to answer your last question----not sure why your fiance sent in that to the consulate/embassy, but as far as we understood the process, you bring the i134 to the interview only. Maybe I wasn't aware that other consulates are different, but I can tell you that when my fiancee got her package, I was under the impression she needed two i134 but she explained to me that on her instructions it said to bring that to the interview only so i sent one notarized i-134, and that's what she brought to the interview. I believe in her package it said to schedule the interview, you sent in couple of forms, passport copy and a 50x50pic, but you don't send in the affidavit of support. YOu also don't send in the evidence of the relationship---you bring that to the interview. Of course, could be different for turkey, but that i don't know....so i would start by asking your fiance to see what was in instructions he got from the consulate, and then find out what was it that he needed to send back to the consulate, and then of course, what is it he needs to bring for the interview. I could be mistaken but it appears he might have sent too much to the consulate cause we didn't do it that way, but again, not sure if things are done differently in turkey.

As for your evidence of relationship, it never hurts to have additional proof.

For our interview, fortunately we had met after we had filed for the k1 visa, so we had pictures of us together within the last 4 months; however, we only brought 2 of these to the interview. WE had boarding passes, email chat logs, postal mail (about 4 envelopes with posted dates within last 4 months), and my fiancee wore her engagement ring. My fiance said she saw them flip thru the evidence but didn't ask any questions about it.....we were worried cause we didn't have any phone call evidence, but that was not an issue.

He shouldn't have sent the I-134 with financial documents to the embassy so yes, he will need a new I-134 to bring along with him to the interview since they may not have the original one he sent them.

My fiance is Turkish as well (his interview is in 10 hours!) and we also sent the I-134 w/ packet 3 as per Ankara's instructions. It doesn't state anywhere to bring this to the interview. Ankara's instructions stated that everything except the medical report, visa fee receipt, 2 visa photos and passport should be sent in with packet 3. Who told him that he must bring the I-134 to the interview? My fiance is bringing photo copies of everything we sent in with the I-129F and with packet 3. I guess we'll find out soon enough if that was not correct...
