hello everybody!

I arrived to the States on K-1 and recently got married. We are planning on sending the AOS package by the beginning of August.

Today I received a letter from my previous employer (in France) who would like to have me back for a short project/sales campaign...I really want to do that...But i know that i absolutely need an AP to leave the country and to be able to come back. At the same time, Im more than sure I won't get it by the time I will need to leave (end of September). Is it worth even trying to get an emergency AP based on this job or should I just say no to the employer?

Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Sasha

Keep in mind, you are petitioning for US residency (Green-card) Work abroad may jeopardize that. Nothing in I-131 directions indicate that you cannot work while abroad though.

Emergency AP requires you to demonstrate to the IO at the field office that you in fact have an emergency, that usualy is a sick family member back in home country, a job may not fly when you bring this up at the INFO-Pass appointment.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Oh yeah, I do realize that! But it's just a two-weeks project that could actually help me find job here in the States...Thank you for your input though..I do appreciate it and will take it into consideration.

mm, thats the thing thats killing me...I need to leave in the end of september till the beginning of october. I actually might get normal AP but I also might not. Of course, i have to give the answer to the company NOW....it's sooooo frustrating...:(

The emergency AP is usually given in those "life & death" situations, like a family member is real sick or hospitalized. Saying you have a 2 week work project abroad will most likely not get you a emergency AP.
