Hi everyone,

I have a question related to the service centers.

What determines which service center will get your case? in other words, we live in the east coast. We sent the AOS packet 7 I-130 together to Chicago lockbox, we already have an appointment for my wife's biometrics on Aug 12. Now I am wondering which service center will end up handling the case?

Any information will be great.

Thanks,

Place of residence tends to determines which field office will handle any interview.

Thank you for your reply, but my question was not about the field office. I was asking about the Service Center that handles the case. is it going to be california Sevice center or Vermont service center since they are the ones handling family based adjustment of status ( married to a US citizen)

i hope i am not confusing you all...

Thanks again, you all are awesome.

AOS is first looked at by NBC (Missouri) and if an interview is determined, then the case goes to Field office. IF interview is not needed then it will go to California Service Center for adjudication, at this point if the adjudicator requests an interview, it will then be sent back to NBC, and then forwarded to your field office.

VSC does not do AOS.
