I think there might be a few things going on...

Well I do think it'd be nice if he offers to carry bags, especially heavy bags, for you. But he may have just not thought about it at that moment. At 6 weeks pregnant you don't look pregnant, and people can forget that you are since it's not as obvious as later on.

You are 6 weeks, so that is pretty early and even carrying grocery bags probably wouldn't harm you too much. You shouldn't do it too much anyway but I am sure it wouldn't be a big deal unless it was extremely heavy. If it's something like a gallon of milk, I don't think that'll do harm.

You are pregnant which means your hormones may be making you feel even more upset at this situation.

If you both talked about it, and if he doesn't plan on making you carry heavy stuff all the time, I'd let it go. I wouldn't let one situation make you think he doesn't care for you or your baby. If it's a continual thing where he seems not to care then that is a problem.

I know...Sujeet wouldn't let me do that while I was pregnant either. He insisted I didn't lift anything heavy or much of anything at all.

I just wonder if it was a one time situation or it happens all the time. If it happened once, then it's not worth staying mad.

A toddler and 4 bags of groceries is NOT going to make a person miscarry. At 6 weeks, miscarriages are most often caused by genetic abnormalities that make the fetus not viable, not because the mom lifted 50 lbs.

My husband wouldn't let me carry anything heavy when I was pregnant. At times it was funny because we'd take my 74 yr old mom shopping for groceries and coming in I wouldn't let her carry anything heavy and she didn't want me to carry anything heavy so we were quite funny the both of us. I think the man should carry the heavy stuff, and a toddler can be quite a strain depending on how strong you are and how heavy they are. We're all different. Me, I'm a weakling but I'm getting stronger now carrying my daughter around everyday!

for me there's no such thing about my husband not letting me do anything. he would probably offer to carry stuff, but not deny me if I wanted to :P

just to be controversial. This thread is too serious.

When your wife is pregnant in first semester, do you allow her to carry of lift up heavy things?

I just got upset with my husband last night because he wanted me to carry the 4 bags of groceries and I was carrying my 2 years old son.. But instead of me speaking up, I just ended up upset and carried the bags and my son. We ended up in an argument as he was insisting that the baggies was not heavy.. I told I will not complain if those plastic wasnt heavy.. We ended up in argument and i found myself really mad at him.. We did get in peace before we go to bed and I just realized why did I get mad? I think because I felt that he does not care for me and the baby.. I felt bad too when we argues sometime..but he pushes my button all the time.. I preferred to be quiet and not to say anything but him, he wants to talk,talk,talk.. I said thing that was not right. But I never give him a name. I just told him I will blame him if there something happen with the baby, and I regret about it.

I am just not feeling today.. so I am whining... I am in my 6 weeks of pregnancy.. and I excited for the 2nd baby.

the question we ask u now is ......what r u gona do about this ? how r u going to handle this bag carrying son carrying issue? does he want u to move furniture too? maybe change his car tires while ur at it?
