When your wife is pregnant in first semester, do you allow her to carry of lift up heavy things?

I just got upset with my husband last night because he wanted me to carry the 4 bags of groceries and I was carrying my 2 years old son.. But instead of me speaking up, I just ended up upset and carried the bags and my son. We ended up in an argument as he was insisting that the baggies was not heavy.. I told I will not complain if those plastic wasnt heavy.. We ended up in argument and i found myself really mad at him.. We did get in peace before we go to bed and I just realized why did I get mad? I think because I felt that he does not care for me and the baby.. I felt bad too when we argues sometime..but he pushes my button all the time.. I preferred to be quiet and not to say anything but him, he wants to talk,talk,talk.. I said thing that was not right. But I never give him a name. I just told him I will blame him if there something happen with the baby, and I regret about it.

I am just not feeling today.. so I am whining... I am in my 6 weeks of pregnancy.. and I excited for the 2nd baby.

Shouldn't this be posted in the "Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits" section of this board? But I don't care, you are upset.

Thought it was a man's job to carry in the groceries, sometimes gets difficult when holding 8 or 9 bags to open the car door for my wife, pregnant or not, that is the gentlemanly thing to do, was and still is. A man takes care of his woman or he isn't a man.

Getting angry and yelling is the worse thing one can do, if he doesn't care about or his child that your are carrying, just tell him in a very clam voice, maybe it's time for you to look around for a guy that will. Give him something to think about. My two cents worth.

Actually, it should be posted in off topic.

Unfortunately I was reading a topic on this section and just hit post new topic.. I guess there is nothing wrong if you mis post the topic.. unless the moderator move this topic..

If he has time enough to talk so much, he has time enough to carry some bags. Why not just make more than one trip to carry the bags? Trying to carrying too much (pregnant or not) can lead to spilling and breakage.

Why not have him juggle the kid and bags around?

he had 2 box of water with him.. but my nanny pick up the other box.. I thought I would just watch the car while I am holding my son, till they come back and make 2 trips since the parking lot of our apartment is not that far.. But i should have speak up and said no, instead of getting mad.. He is still a good man.. I am just having a mood swing lately probably because of my pregnancy.

it would've been nicer of you to speak up and say you're pregnant and carrying your son, that it wouldn't be advisable to carry more weight, instead of keeping to yourself and getting in a fight later.

You must understand that men are kind of dumb when it comes to things like that. Maybe he didn't do it on purpose, he just didn't think straight, you know men..

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

You have every right to be cautious, and you should speak up next time- you are not only protecting yourself, but your unborn child. Only you can judge how much you can take and how much you can do.

Take care of yourself and your belly. (F)
