:waves hello to all:

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Guess I'll be joining this list as well. My husband is Syrian and I'm still waiting for NOA2 for the I-130 but pending some research, nagging, and endless antagonizing I am considering sending in for the CR-1 visa with my I-864....he was rejected for a tourist visa last March when he wanted to come here (this was back when we had no interest in him coming here to live, I wish I did everything different now :( ) and I hope that the Damascus embassy is a) not horrible and B) not going to hold that against him.

Timeline:

Sent in I-130 form: 01/29/09

Interview Date: 11/08/09 (APPROVED!)

Visa in Hand: 11/12/09

POE: 01/30/10 (!!!!) at JFK Airport in NYC... can't wait!

Got the green card maybe 8 weeks after 01/30/10...

TBC....

I wonder....can we ditch the K3 and fire up the cr1? Would he have to interview again? If he's not coming til December, it would be crazy to wait and have to do AOS here.

Yes you can do that and yes he would have to do the interview again. Call DOS or NVC for clarification.

well holy smokes......I just might do that. I have already paid the $70...just need to finish the paperwork and pay the other bill. Then he could get a date...and I'm sure we could finish that out before December. That would TOTALLY avoid having to do aos next year.

Anybody got that phone number?

:)

Yeah I hope so too. The attorney gave me the DHL tracking number & even though he sent it as "next day" it is taking several days to arrive. blah. So hopefully next week our case will be complete and we will get, like you said, a QUICK interview date!!! :)

Happy Friday Eve everyone!

Amanda
