"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I hope you're right Lisa, cause there can't be a full moon two weeks in a row!

Feel your pain with the AP! Knowing we're out of AP is causing me more stress than being in it. We're out, give over the visa already!!! Cairo is so damn slow!

I wanted to email them this week, but Ahmed thinks we have enough info from them as it is. He'll probably call them and not tell me till after. He does that.

:clock: tick tock goes the clock just waiting for Waleed's release from the Egyptian military April 30th. He has one more break to go before his release. It's been a long road. I'm still working on getting my joint sponsor papers work so I can forward on the I-130 from USCIS to NVC. I hope they still have it and it's not too dusty. Once I know that's on the move I'll cancel my K3. Sometimes I feel like since I'm going to be there for 8 months I might as well cancel all the petitions and do DCF while I'm there.

I am really not looking forward to the interview. It will be Waleed and I going in together probably and after the way the girl talked to me the first time when she assumed I don't know how to spell my Husband's full name and the tone she used with me left a bad taste in my mouth. I had no idea about all this immigration stuff and what people had to go through before this.

I have never heard of anyone filing the K1 and K3 at the same time. Are you engaged or married. Sorry, but I dont understand how or why you filed both of them???

I filed the K3 in June 2007 and the K1 in July 2007. It was later I learned you could file them together. It took a week or two for each NOA 1 to come and 6 months before the NOA 2 came. It went through the NVC onto the Embassy in about 4 months and we've been waiting for an interview since April 2008. I just got an email from the consulate that they will notify us soon when the interview is. I check the site regularly but still waiting for whatever is going on if we're on hold or what because he was taken into the Egyptian Military in January.

I call them 2 times per week also. They know me quite well. I have been know to yell and cry on the phone. It's so frustrating that no one can tell you anything. However, the DOS phone answerers have no control or say in this process at all. I have been searching and searching to find out who does have any power to work on our cases. I have yet to find out though. Good luck, hope your AP is shorter than mine..... :bonk:

How many calls to DOS is too many? I'm fighting calling every day, but am thinking twice a week is ok? Lady today was nice, but still the same ole thing.

I think twice a week is acceptable. They can make jokes amongst eachother.."hey, who gets to talk to Tina today?"

:P

I'm totally ok with being the butt of someone elses joke, long as they get my honey to me soon! :D

i hear ya..let them have some fun while they work right? as long as they get you some good news

You got it sister! ;)

Robina, I'm sorry to hear its been so long for you too! How terrible!! I don't know anything about Pakistan, but I get my generic emails from the embassy and they never say anything either. And you're right, DOS doesn't have any say in what's going on, just can tell you where it's at. We've been hearing AP since the beginning, but our last round lasted 8 months.

Olivia, how lucky for you to get to go back for so long. I wish I could do that!

Here's hoping for a week filled with news!!!!

I filled back in 2007 before the processed changed. I don't know what the process is now but back then you had to file the I-130 first and then I-129F next or at the same time. Both were processed and approved at the same time. It took 6 months to get the NOA2 for both because of the rush before fee changes which I didn't know anything about but got my first delay in. Since it was K3 the I-129F went on the the embassy while the I-130 was held at the USCIS. I have to send a letter to request it to be forwarded to the NVC which puts me in for a K3 with the I-129F and the IR-1 with the I-130. I can go either path. Since the Egyptian Military took my Husband for over a year we were delayed and the visa processes were held. The I-129F sits at the Embassy currnetly for nearly a year this coming April. The I-130 is still at the USCIS waiting for my I-864 from myself and my joint sponser. I'm waiting on the joint sponser paperwork to move the I-130 along and go for the IR-1 and drop the K3. The K3 is no good to us now after waiting over 2 years. They automatically qualify you for the IR-1. Man I haven't had to talk about that or explain the complexities of it in a long time. lolz!

Olivia, how lucky for you to get to go back for so long. I wish I could do that!

Oooooooh the fecking visa process! :ranting::protest::angry: Keeping us from our loved ones!
