I MAY NOT BE WHERE I WANT TO BE BUT IM SURE NOT WHERE I WAS

We just started this whole process. I dont even want to pay attention to the time frame casue I know its going to be a long time. Been back from Egypt a month and I think its not gettin any better to be honest. I miss my soul......But they as in the VSC got it Dec 26th and sent the NOA1 like 3 weeks later then my lawyer sent the I 129 off...So i havent been touched for nothing..But I am pretty clueless to the whole thing. So we will play it by ear.

Then you found the perfect place... not sure every case requires a lawyer but of corse that is your choice.... I chose to save the money and live on VJ with wonderful results.. But then again not everyone. Good luck and we're here with you through the entire process.

Well if I would have known then what I know now I would have not hired one. I filled the papers myself and done all the work so it was pointless. But I guess I know I did it right. Sure didnt want to be the one sent to the back of the line cause I did something wrong. Glad I didnt think the more expensive lawyers were better..shesh

one of my friends went through a lawyer and they truthfully have done nothing for her.. she's k1 and has been waiting since August for an NAO2 but it took them 3 months to even send in the paperwork (the lawyers). Yeah if you can get some money back i suggest it. sometimes it appears they are more difficult and non helpful than they should be for the money.

I decided against a lawyer too. I sent preliminary questions to three different immigration lawyers. They allow a question or two for free (via email) in hopes that you will retain them. I asked them questions I knew the answers to and none of them answered me correctly. I totally lost my faith in lawyers ability to do a better job than I can. You just have to read the fine print on all of the forms and instructions, that's all. On top of that, none of the lawyers I contacted were aware that there was no U.S. embassy in Iran! I think lawyers are a waste of money for the K visas.

on the Nimche guide through NVC my suggestion was to spend the money you would've used on a lawyer on a good laptop and internet speed. That way you can see s/o and do the paperwork and have something left over. ;)

I brought cookies for the couch warmers.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Yeah I did that too..Got a better puter..Mine crashed when I got back to the states, and there for about 2 weeks my husbands internet was cutting out to the point we were laughing out of hysteria. I really dont want to worry about this lawyer and my paperwork. I think I might email her tomorrow and make sure she sent it out. I am not playin around with this. If she wants to keep the money and let me take over so I get better results, I can eat my loss just perfer her to be honest. I know where she works.. :innocent: Just going to sit by I guess and see how it goes. Do not trust lawyers but at the time I did't know as much. So, todays lesson for myself wait for my knowledge to catch up with me before I make any choices.

Ok now I am going to vent cause no one else I know is awake..I am tryin to get my old job back for 2 days which puts me workin 7 days a week. He just told me it would be in his best intrest to hire me cause I know the job but he doesnt want someone working 7 days a week because it caused problems before. And he knows I will do a good job but he just don't know...I worked there for 5 days and had this job for 2 days and there was no problem. So, what the he** is the difference. I think I was just rejected.

Good luck with the job thing.

I'm totally glad I still have a job. I have seriously considered a second job to make ends meet.

Yeah I am pretty happy I got my full time and not complaining one bit.. I just wanted a second job so I could afford things I want like a bread machine..been thinkin about some homemade bread and jam for a min. now..Thats what I planned to use as a beggin plea..I need a bread machine so hire me back. Dont know if that would have gave me bonus points to offer bread and jam though..Might go ahead and give that a shot.

I used to have a bread machine until I got my Kitchen Aid (it has a dough hook that kneads the dough). I started using that and got rid of my bread machine. Mmmmm....fresh baked bread. I haven't had that in a long time. :-(
