my wife called USCIS to let them know what we can do about the mistake which in mrriage contract they said yr

packet willnot be touched untill fixing it and she did even ask our nakes to know wts going on

its been 18 days without getting our NOA1 any suggestion plz

and plz if any one know good translator(arabic > English) in WA Seatle or beside tell me

I am not familiar w/ your case or what advice to give you.

As for translators, did your wife try asking around her area? What about translations near you? My husband did all his translations from Arabic to English in Egypt...it was cheaper.

Welcome Engo. In my opinion they told her the wrong thing. They WILL start to work on her petition. If they want someting, they will send her an RFE (request for more information) Then she/you can correct what is wrong.

Good luck and she should be getting the first NOA soon!

yes, she will get an rfe. i would call, there is a prompt that says something like if you beleive there is incorrect data on your petition(totally paraphrasing, someone help me out here) she should ask an officer, not a csr.

nawal is right, translating there is MUCH cheaper. my husband had everything translated there in jordan and then sent it to me.

have your wife call the uscis line and get to an officer and ask specifically what she needs to do.

i wouldnt even wait really...there is no harm in her calling to ask again. This time, i hope she gets someone who knows what they are talking about.

I think the operators/csr's at uscis get so many phone calls, and like in any kind of service job...you have rude people who do not care AT ALL.

When you call uscis, you get a person who works at a call center..they really dont know anything and just handle the calls intially and transfer you to an officer at the center that your petition is, if necessary.

If she calls again, maybe she will get a decent customer service rep who is willing to help. I did get a very nice lady once when i called, the officer i was transferred to was very dismissive and a little rude, but she did end up helping me. the key is patient persistence when calling uscis.

I think that they are taking a little longer on some cases to issue the noa1 though. I wouldnt get too stressed yet

You won't know where to send it until you get an RFE. You will return what they ask for in the envelope they send you.

operators only read what is on the screen you're only going to be able to get anywhere by talking to a supervisor.... good luck
