i asked to call nvc and uscis but that was his answer " everything is in the good way just relax hny" !!!!!! wish i can call them by myself !! :-(

actually, you can call on your own..you will just need the case #. YOu can use the USCIS receipt # or the case number that NVC assigned to it.

maybe he already called and sorted it out?? i hope thats the case

good luck :)

It was my understanding that only the petitioner can call USCIS? I don't think they will talk to the beneficiary.

true, but she can call NVC. Thats what I was talking about. I should have made that clear

Pin this hot-mess? :P LOL just kidding, we have great friendships being built here!

We just a bunch of wait-ers.

The pinned thread about petitions getting sent back..that is one of the MOST valuable threads EVER made on VJ. I have mad respect for the ladies that jump in immediately when someone here needs help in that area.

I brought the ice cold bebsi for everyone waiting.

I'm waiting on Waleed's interview. I'm missing him badly it's starting to turn to depression. It feels worse than the first time waiting. At least school is starting next week to keep my mind occupied while we wait on him and the visa process.

Ok. You can use the option to speak to an operator.

then say: Im calling to see if my son's petition has been received please.

they will ask for the receipt number, your sons name and date of birth and I think the petitioner's date of birth...tell them this information.

After they check in their system with the receipt number...you will know if it is there or not.

If they do say it is there....ask for the NVC receipt number.. "may I have the new case number please?"

I hope you find that it is there and ready to go with yours :)

Ok ladies...forgot to mention this earlier...yesterday I had my mid-year review at work. I got "meets expectations" on everything except one. For the corrective action plan that they put me on---correcting my behavior about "what I said"--which they told me would not affect my work, they put "doesn't meet expectations" on of of the like 6 types of behaviors at work, collaborates. I was furious...she said they would take it off at the end of year review and it won't have any effect, but I somehow feel like this will hinder any chance of promotion. I haven't had any luck at all finding a different job. All of this ####### is stressing me out and making me angry and I am not my usual self at home....hubby sees the difference and I don't want it to come between us. I can see a change myself and I don't know what to do about it...I don't want to feel this way but somehow it seems I've become rough around the edges and I don't like it one bit@

Thats BS!

Im sorry you are feeling that way. When you spend 8 hours a day upset , its natural for it to affect your everyday, nonwork life as well. The only solution that I have while you are looking for another job is to be aware of your attitude change and try to recognize when its happening so you can curtail it. Im sorry, ive been there and done that and i know its miserable. (F)

I hope it gets better there and you can accept that you cant change it for now.

No problem :)

I think the consulate can answer that question. Most consulates have email addresses for questions. You could always just shoot them an email and ask. Amman was wonderful with my questions that I emailed to them a million times lol

Let us know what you find out when you call
