I know of one in Chicago...they translated a paper once for me for about $100. I have a friend in NC that needs something translated and notarized. thx :)

Oh ok...I will keep my eyes open for one and if I find one I will let you know. :)

We got AP at NVC for our I-129F K3. We cant catch a break with this process.:cry:

I don't think AP at NVC takes a long time...not sure though. But if it does, can't you go ahead with the CR1? I'm so sorry Beth (hugs), I pray that it doesn't take long and have faith in God and I'm sure inshallah he will have his visa before his residency card expires.

I cant even chase the I-130 his PCC and Birth Cert expired, that is also another reason we were going to chase the K3

He had his dad get us new ones, but I wont get them for a few weeks.

I hate this, I hate this process!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awww...Beth I'm so sorry! How exactly do you know if you are in AP at NVC? Our case was at NVC like 2 months and it drove me nuts!!!! Inshallah things will work quickly in your favor.

I called a bit ago, and I asked them if in AP, Yeap its in AP, but could not tell me why or for how long. I just want to go home and cry and hide under the covers!!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

hey sinad,

If the RFE came from NVC then the petition was approved. The petitions go to NVC for further processing, sometimes they need more or different documents that were originally sent in. I wouldnt worry too much about it. It sounds like your husband is taking care of whatever they asked for in the RFE. An RFE from NVC does not automatically mean that the visa petition isnt approved or that it will be denied.

I hope that helps :)

Beth,

I wrote a bit about AP at NVC in the VJwiki...it has a link that "scandal" wrote that tracks cases thru NVC. You can check out the latest trend there.

Again, Im so sorry this happened, but the time is shortening for AP there lately. When I wrote this, it was the standard 50-52 days

the only benefit to completing both at NVC(and not just dropping the K3) would be the you could try and get the CR1 interview done at the time that the K3 is scheduled..IE- potentially saving you a month or so of waiting to have the CR1 interview. Here's the thing. You get the K# interview scheduled and then you email the consul and ask if you can "flip" your k3 interview and do the CR1(assuming they have it there). Some consuls will do it, while others will say no. the other thing is that if they have the CR1 onsite, they legally HAVE to interview you for it rather than the K3...so some ppl dont email and ask, they just show up for the k3 interview and say...btw, i have a CR1 here and I would liek to interview for that. sounds confusing, and quite frankly i think it is...and also risky but that is just my personal opinion.

so, bottomline is that if you follow the cr1 through NVC...then i would just go with it all the way through. BUT, the chances that they pulled your 130 for AP too is likely also. The upside of that is by the time you are done with the AOS fee bill and all of that other processing, the AP should be finished.

I say stick with the K3 Beth. You should be out soon and you wont have to worry about more ####### thru NVC..no more paperwork, forms and fees. Even if your k3 stays in AP for 40-50 days(god forbid) you will still be better off timewise sticking with it.

wow, that was a mouthful and i hope it wasnt too confusing

Oh my! So NVC says they have his case, but USCIS sent an RFE? I would be confused too. I would definatley have your husband call NVC and tell them what is going on. Ask them directly if they have assigned a case # for your sons case. This way you will be positive that it is approved at NVC and not still at USCIS. Then you might want to have your husband call USCIS as well and ask why he received an RFE from them when the case has already been approved.

Good Luck!

i asked to call nvc and uscis but that was his answer " everything is in the good way just relax hny" !!!!!! wish i can call them by myself !! :-(

actually, you can call on your own..you will just need the case #. YOu can use the USCIS receipt # or the case number that NVC assigned to it.

maybe he already called and sorted it out?? i hope thats the case

good luck :)

It was my understanding that only the petitioner can call USCIS? I don't think they will talk to the beneficiary.
