Ok... so our group is at 2...........who else is waiting? Does the embassy set the interviews for Egypt? I read that NVC does the sceduling for Jordan now.

 Me ... I am waiting ... but after posting some things on OFF TOPIC and having the lid blow off, I have decided to maintain a low profile ... I am married to a Moroccan man ... We married June 23, 2009 ... I knew it would be hard for us to be together, but I had NO idea how hard ... Or expensive ... so we REALLY have to wait ... I have the I-130 sitting here staring me in the face and I can't send it in ... :( ... How do I join MENA ???

You just did...welcome!!

:star: THANKS !!! :)

Welcome to MENA forum! May be you would like to introduce yourself here:

That's great Amy! Now he can come back with you and the kids!

Beth congrats on your NOA 2's and now off to the NVC! The K3 process is the same as the CR-1 except for that it's less money at the interview but more expensive on the tail end because of $1010 fee at the time of your AOS. The other difference is that on the K3 when he comes here he won't be able to work for 3-5 months until he gets work permit so he'll be sitting around the house struggling with his masculinity of not being able to be a providers inaddition to adjusting to culture shock. On the CR-1 it's more expensive up front for the interview fee but turns out to be the less expensive in the long run because there is no $1010 fee on the tail end as they do their 3-5 month waiting period in their own country and come with the work permits so he will be able to work right away while assimilating. As far as the K3 being faster than the CR-1 thanks to AP and AR it's a total ####### shoot and the wait could be the same or longer. Some threads I have read said that the change in procedures and fees a few years ago was to do away with the K3 but I have yet to see that happen.

Thank you Lisa and we hope everything is fine with the packet and he gets a quick interview date as well.

Hi Sharifah!

Hi PKS! Welcome to the Middle East North Africa forum. I know what you mean about keeping a low profile. There is nothing like initiation by fire.

Aya when you apply for the I-130, which everyone has to, you are automatically applying for the CR-1/IR-1. Beth also filed the I-129F which also applies her for the K3. Since both were approved she has the option to go with the K3 or the CR-1 and all she has to do is tell the place where they are at, which would be the NVC next, to cancel the I-129F and she would be on the CR-1 route again. Otherwise with the I-129F still active she is on the K3 route.

Oh and hi Jackie I know you will pop in here sooner or later. :D

WOW!

Amy,

Thats wonderful! I knew it wouldnt be long when they said the CO had it.:dance: ENJOY your life together hun.

Beth,

Fantastic news! I wwas wondering about the 129f you sent in..if they had even tied it to the 130 yet. Now you have two choices :D

Olivia,

welcome home and I hope he gets a quick interview date

Amanda,

A new job for you is in my prayers. At least you got an answer from that one though.

Hello and (L) to everyone else.

JACKIE, LISA, help me, since we are now doing the K3 what happens, I was only prepared for the CR-1

Does embassy contact me or him about paperwork, interview????? Do we take all the originals to interview, the PCC, birht cert, marriage cert, the Non Immigrnat visa application, please please help. Im so excited, but yet now so lost.

Beth

Beth, I'm confused  If you are doing CR-1 why do you have to do K3? Can you do both together? Or are there similar documents that you have submit here and there?

Yes I originally filed for a CR-1 visa, but also filed for a K3 which USE to be faster then the CR-1, that is not the case anymore. But the real reason we filed for the K3 had to do with our marriage, long long story if you dont already know about it, LOL.

I never would of filed for the K3 but we had reason as mentioned. So now we will be at NVC for a couple of days, then its all sent to embassy, we are racing against the clock anyways, trying to get a interview and approved before Nov. 6th. which now following the K3 we will make that mission!!

A K3 is a Non Immigrant visa, we have to adjust status once he is here.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Beth,

Do call me this weekend and I'll help walk you through it as much as I can.

Puffy,

Welcome to the MENA waiting thread. Some of us arent waiting anymore but we've made friends and like to offer support. :)

Why cant you file the 130 yet?

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Paris, where did you get married? If you follow K3, you have to process at the Consulate that serves the country you were married in. If it's where your husband is now, then no problem. For CR1, he will have to process in his country of nationality. None of this may affect you, but it did us, and that's why we went with the K3.

Hope ya'll have a great week.

On Saturday I had a one hour date with Ibrahim. It was great! He is awesome and so patient with me and my never-ending questions about Islam. Reminds me of a Simpsons episode when Bart keeps asking quesitons of his Sunday School teacher...lol.
