I think it would be safe to wait until July 31st. Then let the harrassing commence :P

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

So what do you ask when you call DOS? I always end up sitting on hold for a while, and then they answer the phone suddenly and I'm caught off-guard and stammering. All I can think is "CAN I GET SOME GOOD NEWS?" but they want some questions a little more coherent, I think :P The last time I called I just asked for the status of our case. Is there something specific I should be asking?

ohhh I can almost hear the conversation now in my head :P

I called everyday, Monday thru Friday. I would say 'Hello, I'm checking on the status of my husbands case' ...I would give the AMM number then ...a few seconds would pass and either Chris, Sarah, or Anna...(they wuz mah friends from Dec-May) they would say "your husband is currently still under administrative processing" It became almost an automatic response to say ok, thx and hang up.

So imagine my suprise the day their message changed. It wasn't what I was expecting, so don't get caught off guard like I did. I was totally expecing them to say something really cool like...AP is finished...or congratulations visa is coming.. This is how it really went down..so anti-climatic after 150 phone calls. I asked the question and she said 'your husband needs to contact the embassy' ......omg I was like what? what did you say? why? is there a problem? is ap finished? Suddenly my rug was pulled out from under me and then they WOULD NOT tell me a thing. In fact they hung up on me and I had to call back..lol. Second person could also only say ' call the embassy' The embassy then said to send in the passport.

So, my question to those of you that came out of AP...how were you told? Did DOS say it was done..or was your response kinda vague?

Hope everyone gets good news soon.

Hi MENA ladies...just checking in and checking on my girls still on the couch.

I am very frustrated with my job the past few months and I don't know what I should do. This frustration and zero motivation to come in to work has really put me in the mindset of how long it will take to save up enough money for the 3 of us (hubby, my daugther & me) to fly to Jordan and stay for a while. Makes no since though...we just waited 8 months for all this visa ####### to process!!! But I am seriously considering looking for another job, especially one closer to home since I have to drive an hour here & an hour home. Anyway...at least I have my hubby with me and I can come home to him everyday. He is looking for a job...please pray for him!

Oh & some good news...my ex-husband finally decided to sign the consent for my daughter's passport!! It took forever to get him to do it. At least when we decide to go to Jordan, she can come with us! That made my day yesterday.

Beth...how are you holding up?

(((Jackie)))

Kenza...how are things going for you?

Lisa...I hope you and Y are doing well. Is Yazied working? If so, did he have much trouble finding a job? (If you don't mind my asking).

Where's Moh??

((((Hugs all around))))

Amanda,

If you are miserable at work, def look for somethign else. I learned a long time ago that you spend too much time at work to be miserable, it will bleed into every other aspect. I hope you find something closer to home :)

Yazied isnt working, we're waiting on the EAD (we did the K3). After some serious BS on the part of USCIS, they finally accepted the application at Vermont and the Ombudsman is goign to ask for an expedite for us.

aside from that...when we get the EAD, Y has a job already lined up, god willing. If he has to go looking, Im sure he will have the difficulties that most everyone else has with no US work experience. But, we do live in a large enough city that the oppurtunity is there, thank god.

For now he is running the infamous "Y's Daycare Center of Louisville" with one attendent...Josh

Amanda, Im sorry about your job, and I understand, sounds like you need a true change and would be good for you. Great news on your daughter and passport, that is wonderful!!!!.

Im holding up okay better today, heard again from Washington, I was told my 1st and only true RFE covers the 8# folder I sent and CSC received July 14, that I will hear by August 8th, that was the end of the 60 days from my first RFE, so good news there, plus Aug. 12th will be my 5 month mark, so soon some kind of news. But most of all looking forward to flying to Paris Sept. 5th, that is when I will be myself again.

Stay strong Hon, your a tough cookie, I truly wish you and yours all the best.

Hugs to all my lovely MENA ladies, Jackie, Lisa, Kenza .

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.
