...of course you have a spot on da couch ..wouldn't be the same without ya. But really, you should hop down and go clean something :P did you get the veggies and fruit and rice?

Thanks Jackie! How are you feeling today...any better? I have been cleaning and cleaning!!! I am pretty much ready now...just very jittery and can't sit still at work! I haven't bought groceries yet...waiting until maybe Friday night to do that so they will be good and fresh. Stocking up on Pepsi & Mango juice....feel like there is something I am forgetting....

OMG I remember running around like a crazy woman getting ready for Yazied. lol

How exciting Amanda!! I know what you mean about people at work. Everyday, they would ask the about the process, when is he coming?, can he stay?,are you ready?........... the list goes on and on. And wait until he does get here, then they will ask how things are going EVERY day

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Yeah Lisa...definitely feel like a crazy woman. I got to work this morning and I was sitting at my desk (cubes) and a co-worker was walking to the printer and she didn't stop walking, but when she passed by cube she shouted "3 days!" Its nuts!

So Lisa...did Y have any issues with luggage or anything? I am worried Raad will be over weight limit because of all the friggin gifts he is bringing over. There shouldn't be an issue with coffee or anything like that right? I know I brought back tea and a spice mix and went through ok. Ughh...I guess I am just obsessing over nothing..it will be ok!

Oh, another question...anybody know anything about renewing a Jordanian passport once in the US? The travel agent noticed that my hubby's passport will expire in like 8 months...what should we do?

No issues through customs for us Amanda.

I THINK I checked this out like last year, and they can renew the passports via mail thru the embassy in DC. now I need to go check it out.

I'll report back ;)

Thanks so much Lisa!

Raad just weighed his luggage and he is over by a couple of kilograms & he still has a few things to add....hmmmmmmmm....why don't they make special allowances for people who are moving...not just visiting? According to Royal Jordanian website he will have to pay $50 per suitcase that is over 23 kgs up to 32 kgs. Ugh...sucks.

Hey just saw this and wanted to add something here. RJ hasnt updated their web info..Im not sure if its the same over there--i would assume it depends on the mood of the person checking them in, and whether the flight is full or not---ive traveled with RJ many times. They are actually charging $100 per overweight suitcase now, i fought with the guy checking me in the last time i flew with them because i had even CALLED their office and was told 50, he said no no we changed this 6mths ago(before i was traveling--this was last year) I said well you REALLY need to educate your webpage AND your phone reps. After 20mins of arguing he only charged me for 1 bag so i had to pay just $100 instead of $200.

June 11 05-Married George, civil ceremony in New York

May 30 08-Baby Joshua was born

July 11-1st trip to take Josh to see George

Oh thanks for that info! Good to know. When I flew from Amman I was on a Delta flight..my bags weren't overweight, but I bought a comforter while I was there and asked them if I could check it in addition to my two suitcases...they told me it would be $200 and I was like...ohhh that is too expensive, I can't afford that especially since the comforter only cost me $15. The lady talked to the guy standing next to her and then said...ok you can check it for free...just like that no fight or anything...I was so surprised! So you are right, guess it depends on the person checking you in & if the plane is full. Oh well..guess we just have to wait and see. :)

I'm not sure what the Jordanian application looks like, but I know that the Egyptian passport re-application form had arabic and english on it. It was a line of Arabic, and then a line of translated English, and so on. When my friend went to get his signature notarized, he could not find a notary who would do it, because none of them were "comfortable notarizing a non-english document"... Of course, they notarized Spanish, Russian, etc. Just not Arabic :P They refused to do it, even when I reminded them that they are not notarizing the document, JUST THE SIGNATURE. Anyway, hopefully you live in a more tolerant area, or have an Notary Public that works with the Arab population in your area. Or just a Notary Public without his head in his backside.
