The consulate called my husband today and told him to send his passport and said that they will send it back to him with his visa within 1 to 2 weeks!!!!!

I'm so excited, but now I gotta figure out what airline to use.......he wants to fly direct EgyptAir to JFK, then connect to Tulsa, but I don't know how to go about this.........

Yes my bags are packed! I woke up with a fever today. I felt the sickness coming on last night with a headache in class. I don't think it's the swine flu as we've had one case in Idaho but it could be. Though I sometimes get sick during finals. I just hope it passes before I leave cos they won't like that with me coming into Egypt.

It's really 5 days till I leave. I don't count the day I leave because I leave so early in the morning and then I'm traveling for a whole day and night.

Awww...I hope you get better soon. If you can, I would hit an urgent care or something....maybe if it is like a sinus infection or something like that you can hit it with antibiotics rather quickly and start feeling much better sooner. You are probably stressed and that makes you open to sickness...but inshallah its nothing and you will feel better in the morning. Get lots of rest, take an Emergen-C!

Wow, 5 days. That is so exciting. How long is your flight. I know when I went to Jordan I had to drive 2 hours to get to the airport, 2 hours to fly to New York, 4 hours to wait until the plane to Jordan, 13 hour plane from JFK to Amman and then another 2 hour drive from Amman to my husband's house! Needless to say I was so tired when I got there. My husband said I slept a while when I got to his house but I seriously do not remember it...must have just passed out as soon as I was able to lay flat!!!

Update:

Waleed just accepted the job in Hurghada today and we're going to be by the sea this summer! I am happy to be away from crowded Cairo. He is looking for a place for us that is a one bedroom now with standard amenities. I have 4 foreign friends there that are the wives of his Doctor friends mostly so I am even more excited to not be all alone!

Also the wedding celebration may not happen now. They say the hall in the Mosque is just for signing papers and since we already did that 2.5 years ago we might not have that. Neither of us want the noisy 5 hour celebration at a families home as we prefer the quiet 1 hour ceremony and congratulations at the Mosque. So it is not a big deal. We would just go back to our original plan of having a wedding ceremony on 11.11.2011 here in the US. He is going to stop at the Mosque and explain to them himself that since I am not Egyptian we had to sign the papers at the only place where they can make it official in the Ministry of Justice as everyone knows that is the place for foreigners to get married and see if the Mosque accepts this or not. We will see. :)

omg a place by the sea...can anything else get any better for you dear?
