done dancing~~is it illegal to choke ones husband til he turns blue ?

Him changing plans is giving me whiplash. Him come here in June for 2 weeks, then leave til Dec. Him come in May for 2 weeks, then leave. Me fly to him in July and him come in ............ah just forget it I told him. Tell me when your gonna land and I'll pick ya up. He SWEARS his government won't let him leave til Dec..the k3 has to be activated by Nov........ If I have to call the KING himself I will get to the bottom of this. Can they really stop him from using a visa???grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ok, I'm gonna just crawl up on the couch and wait for him to buy a ticket.

jJ (F)

Does he work for the gov jackie? If so, i guess they can hold him to the contract

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

But if he buys a round trip ticket (intent to return), then stays here...how can they hold him to it? Once he's a USC, its really null and void, right? I know its a long time to wait to visit home...but it is the way around the work contract. I really hate those things...blah!

Yes he works for the government~~and I'm thinking we're screwed big time.

If he comes on the K3 and activates it, does he have to get adv parole or file aos to use it as a multi-entry visa? oh mannnnnnn it's not looking good here folks.

After a visa is issued, can he request for it to be extended for a month?-from mid Nov to end of Dec? (contract ends last day of the year)

How frustrating!!! Why can't he just quit if this is due to his being a gov't employee? They don't have big azz contracts unless they hold big azz positions, right? Or is he really high up there?

I think he can...they do that with tourist visas so I'm thinking they prolly do it for the K3 ones as well. You have to call and find out now to get your plan straight. It's hella frustrating and I would be so furious too!! Is this gov. job going to help him when he gets here in the US? meaning guarantee a better job?

Im thinking the same Jackie...

What is the consequence for breaking the contract, THAT is what you need to find out.

It will work out, email Amman about an extension just in case (F)

Im here Im here!!

Lisa, MSmariah, Amanda, Zarqa, ANd i guess miss Jackie (even though she never answers or talks to me??)

PLease forgive me........i am soooo sorry  . i have just been  lately. As you all know my fiance had her inerview on the 28th of april. there was only 3 people there that day so she did not have to wait to long for her turn. she had a white lady with glasses. she said she was nice. she asked her:

how we met?

what i did for a living

why she loved me?

what we have in common?

why she want to marry and american and not a moroccan?

had she spoke to my parents before?

does the families approve of the engagment?

where i live?

when was the last time i was there?

she asked for the engagment photos, emails, and conversations, then gave her a white sheet of paper that had a boxed checked. the boxed that was checked was other: we require nothing further at this time we will call you as we can proceed with your case...... blah blah blah(i cant remember exactly)

the lady also gave her her passport. on her passport there was a green ticket with a 5 digit number on it. it was perferated in the middle of the ticket. so it had 2 sides each with the same 5 digit number. the ticket was stapled to her passpot. the lady gave it to her and said we will call you soon.

im kinda :) and :( , because again i am in the dark about my fiances visa. i miss her so much and i hate not knowing when or if she will get her visa. people tell me that this is normal for morocco, but she is not a male and this is somewhat rare. inshallah everything will be fine. anyone have any advice or thoughts?? bad or good? thank you all for your support and oyu all are great people. wallahi i promise you all are. again thank you soo much for caring (L)

Oh Jackie, that sucks really bad, but I knew of a guy who had a gov't contract in Jordan which he had to abandon to accept his visa. He later had his friend in the ministry get him released from the contract and there were no penalties for him.

I really think that it would be far easier for him to escape from his contract than for him to be able to change his visa but for some reason I thought they were good for two years from issuance. Also, I think he would have to get advanced parole to leave for an extended period however I do think it is possible after he applies for adjustment of status to not be seen as abandoning. Other than that I don't even know who you should be asking if he can extend his visa, honestly I never saw or heard of it but you could try Dept of State. I found their email......

usvisa@state.gov

Moh, I'm so sorry to hear that you are in AP, however I've been seeing some people get approved within two weeks, maybe it's something simple like that, inshallah.

Welcome Emily, thanks for sharing your feelings, I hope you get resoluction soon too.

Fortunately, we are able to keep things alive and I'm grateful for that. We each talk about our day, our families, the little things that happen. He and I share the same sense of humor, and that really helps alot. It's an odd day that he doesn't make me laugh, even when he doesn't mean to. He and I have decided to expect the worse, yet hope for the best in terms of AP. I don't feel very encouraged, and the reason is because I see more people saying that Cairo is notorious for slow processing. I've been there, I see that they don't get in a hurry for much of anything other than driving :(

I just wish I knew what they were doing that takes so long......

Welcome Emily and best of luck! (F) Keep the faith girl...you are right, Cairo is slow :P I like to say, they are on "Egyptian Time"...
