I got an email reply to my service request. I just want to know if this is just their automated reply and they are going to look at my case, or are they confused and they think I'm the beneficiary??? They even state in the email that the caller indicated they are applicant or petitioner, yet their answer says they can't give info to anyone other than petitioner. I"m confused. I've deleted the private information that was in the original email.

On 04/20/2009 you, or the designated representative shown below, contacted us about your case. Some of the key information given to us at that time was the following:

Caller indicated they are:

-- Applicant or Petitioner

Attorney Name:

-- Information not available

Case type:

-- I130

Filing date:

-- 10/14/2008

Receipt #:

-- private

Beneficiary (if you filed for someone else):

-- private

Your USCIS Account Number (A-number):

-- Information not available

Type of service requested:

-- Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this service request is:

The Privacy Act, 5 USC Sec. 552a, and Vermont Service Center policy prohibits release of information to someone other than the affected party. The affected party is typically the petitioner, applicant or attorney of record. Disclosures of processing times and general procedures relating to certain form types do not fall under the Privacy Act. However, information given to someone other than the affected party, such as the beneficiary, which relates to the specific processing or adjudication of a particular petition/application, is prohibited by the Privacy Act and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy.

In addition, only the petitioner or applicant may request a change of address or other changes be made to the record. We cannot process changes requested by the beneficiary or a third party.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Childress,

How annoying is that BS?!!? When I did an inquiry I didnt get an email response, so maybe that it new. It does sound like they copied the wrong canned response to you. sheeesh!

I would get back on the phone with them and write your congressman also to ask for a formal detailed inquiry into your case.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

OK I'm on the phone with USCIS now and they escalated my call. It seems the problem is that they updated my last name on the I129f but not the I130. Because of the different last names, I was assumed to not be the petitioner! UGH. He's updating my information now. I just assumed both were changed. :-O

OK well we got the name and address thing changed on the I130, but he would not put in the service request for out of processing time for my I130 because he said the I129F takes over for the I130 and I have to go by the I129F dates. ??? I asked him why is it then that some people get I130 approval before or concurrently with their I129F and he said that happened rarely. UGH. So I'm back to square one it seems.

Awww childress, that SUCKS.

Was it the officer who said you couldnt put in the service request? I had to gently argue with an officer to put one in for me after she told me I should "understand that those posted times are just estimations, you know what an estimate is right?" oh ya and another gem that I "just need to wait". Polite persistence paid off eventually with that officer that day though. anyway, im babbling

Well, it is true that your 129f is the noa1 you would go by but sometimes they let ya slide by anyway.

you dont have to wait much longer until the 129f goes out of time right?

One more month until the I129F goes over processing time. :-( And yes, it was the officer who refused to put in a new service request. He said the I129F would be approved before the I130 anyway. I told him I knew people who got the I130 approved first and his response was well, that's rare. Well the point is to me that they process them separately. It's not like they stop processing the I130 just because you file the I129F!

Just saw the rest of your post...

they actually do get "tied" and adjudicated together. If they were processed seperately and the 130 wasnt "pulled out of line" to be tied with the 129f..then K3's would actually be flying through the service centers since they are adjudicating cr1's in like half the time.. Oh well, I was really hoping that you would be able to get a request and some info soon.

:secret: I would call back this week and try another CSR or officer, but thats just my pushiness lol

It's all so confusing. Yeah I was thinking about calling back and trying again after they get my name updated on the I130. They didn't seem to know anything about the two petitions until I mentioned it to the officer.

I'm back on the couch. He called me and said "really he told me no for the visa" I said "what....." him "they denied me the visa, they said they don't believe me"

me "what... (oh my god how can this be happening) why?"

him "the guy really he p!ssed me off, he said I was a liar when they asked me how do you know your wife"

me "well they gave you a paper right? what did it say?"

him "they stamped denied visa... really he was talking so fast I didn't understand anything, really it's all your fault because you told me to say that!! really, I swear you don't love me!"

me " but whyy (and the hot tears come now and I start to imagine what I have to do now with a denial paper... and I start to wimper a little) I don't understand"

him " you wrote a letter to my sister and said so many things (and and?), and it's your fault because you don't love me, you wanted me to get the denial!"

me "that's not true, I love you, it's not fair"

him "what did you say?"

me " I said I love you"

him " you love me and I love you too, that's why they told me to pick up the visa in 5 to 10 days, ya baby!"

me "WHAT!........................."

him "sure they gave me the visa ya crazy baby!"

me "OHHHHHHHH YOUUUUUUUUU, (deep breath) just wait til you reach the airport I swear I will hurt you!"

"I even said to my mom how you might try to trick me"

him "I was good at acting right?"

me "grrrrrrr, how could you do that it's so bad"

him "hehehahah really I was good about it yah?"

me "sniff sniff, I still can't breathe good"

him "yah, when you started to cry I realized 'haram' so I had to say the truth"

Anyway, that's my husband and we got the visa!!!! I can almost cheer finally after the trauma.

Some questions they asked him.

How did you meet your wife?

What do you know about her ex husband? Why did they divorce?

Where does her daughter live? Who else lives there? What do they think about your marriage? Did you meet any of them?

How long did she stay with you in Jordan? How long did she stay the second time?

What does she do? Where does she work... is it a hospital? He had to explain to him a nursing home when he couldn't remember 'nursing home'.

Amer told me he looked at the pictures a lot and asked about where we were and who else was in the pictures with us [his different family members].

Then Amer said the CO asked if Amer thought I was sexy, and he answered [in small voice] "yes very"

I screamed and said NO WAY. And he really giggled. I swear he's going to kill me. Rolleyes. And if he knew I told everybody on the message board that tease he'd spank me good, but I have to do something to get even right? Sigh.
